We arrived safely back home although covered in ash. Taking our time, we unpacked all of our things and brushed the ash out of our hair and off our clothes.
"What a trip!" Fred exclaimed as we went outside to de-gnome the garden the next morning.
"Yeah! But now we're back to boring jobs like this," George said sadly.
"Oh well. We can say we've been to Egypt now!" Ron said, as he picked a gnome up and threw it over the fence. The gnome soared through the sky but it didn't go very far.
"You can't throw far at all Ron!" Fred shouted while picking another gnome up, throwing it over the fence and watching it fly well away. "Now that's a good throw Ron. Yours was bad."
"Don't show off!" Ron said angrily. And then, just like that, an argument broke out. I looked at Ginny and she nodded, and at the same time we shouted,
"Oh, SHUT UP!" They seemed to quieten down a bit then.
"Okay then Miranda, let's see how far you can throw - and when you can't get past the stump, you're welcome to join our little argument," George said, staring at me. I sighed but picked up a gnome, swung it round as fast as I could and let it go. It sailed through the air with ease, soaring right over the stump, ending up a meter past it. Ginny high fived me before she picked up her own gnome, and biffed it over the fence. It flew even farther than mine.
"Don't under estimate the power of girls," I told the twins and Ron confidently. I winked at Ginny, who was busy laughing. The boys looked angry, but they stopped talking and got on with the job we had to do. We worked on and on, before Mrs. Weasley called us in for lunch. As we started to tuck into our yummy pumpkin pie, Mrs. Weasley cleared her throat.
"Arthur and I have decided that for the last three days of holidays, we will be staying at The Leaky Cauldron. Harry and Hermione will be joining us. And I think you deserve to know that last night, Harry ran away from his house after he blew up his aunt," She announced.
"He what?" I blurted out, nearly choking on my mouthful of food.
"Well, I got a notice from The Minister that Harry had accidentally blew up his aunt after he got - um - a bit angry at her." Mr Weasley said.
"What, so he got angry and his aunt just went BOOM and blew up?" Ron asked curiously.
"Whoa! I wanna learn to do that!" Fred said, getting excited, clapping his hands like an excited little kid.
"No, no, no! Of course that didn't happen - and no Fred you can't learn to blow people up - "
"Does that mean I can?" George asked excitedly.
"No one is learning to blow people up! Now be quiet or I won't tell you what happened! Harry's aunt must have said something to make Harry angry, and so he unintentionally made her start to get bigger. She swelled up like a balloon. Soon she was so full of air that she started to float away." Mrs. Weasley said.
"Don't worry though, Harry's safe - at least, he is now. Fortunately his aunt is fine too," Mr. Weasley added as he saw our shocked faces.
"So how are we getting there? To the Leaky Cauldron?" Ginny asked once we'd finished discussing Harry.
"Floo Powder?" Ron suggested.
"No, we're out of powder and it's too close to this house. That would be a waste if we did have powder. We'll just take a car," Mr Weasley said casually.
"Okay," We all said, before continuing eating.
-
A few days after that conversation we piled into two cars on a sunny morning. For some reason, we got to use two Ministry Of Magic cars. We stopped off at a shop in London to pick up Hermione.
