We pulled apart.
"Did you two break up?" He asked
"yeah, I told him that a long distance relationship would be to hard"
"And he agreed?"
"Yeah"
Can smiled.
"but we can't-" he cut me off
"Yes we can"
"It wouldn't be fair to Nash"
"Nash is over 2,000 miles away an he might never come back, and besides you two broke up"
"But how do you think he would feel if he found out that his ex girlfriend and his best friend were dating?"
"We won't tell him, at least for now"
I sighed
"Okay, but what about you and Skylar?"
"I honestly don't really like Skylar like that, I just wanted you and Nash to think that I liked someone so that you he didn't think that I liked you"
"wait so how long have you liked me?"
"Our whole life"
"Then how come you never asked me out"
"I didn't want to ruin our friendship"
"It wouldn't have"
He held my hand
"So you liked me too?" He asked
"Of course I've always had feelings for you, but I always thought it was a best friend kind of love thing."
"How did you know that it wasn't?"
"DC" I said
"DC?" He asked
"yeah, our sixth grade trip to D.C."
"How did you know then?"
"Because when we were sitting next to each other on the bus you gave me your blanket at night and when I got bus sick, you held the bucket and my hair back. And when it started pouring the next day and everyone went inside, you knew that I wanted to see the memorial fountain and you put your coat over my head so that I could go. that's when I realized that you'll always be there for me."
We kissed again.
"But wait" I said when we stopped.
"What?"
"Even if you don't like skylar, she still likes you"
"We can keep it a secret"
"No, if were going to do this, then we have to be honest with her"
"Alright" he said "whatever you want".
He kissed my forehead, I layed back down and we went to sleep.

The next morning I woke up to the smell of bacon. I fluttered my eyes open and Cam wasn't there. I got up, put my hoodie on and walked to the kitchen.
Cam was standing in front of the stove cooking breakfast.
"Morning beautiful" he said. That's what Nash used to say to me.
"Good morning" I said, kissing him.
"Hungry?" He asked
"yeah, whatcha making"
"Peanut butter pancakes and bacon"
I smiled. Peanut butter pancakes are Cam and I's favorite. Our parents used to make us them every morning we had a sleep over when we were little. We ate and then I grabbed my spare clothes from my bag and went to the bathroom to change. I put on jean shorts and a white tank top. I brushed my hair and clipped two pieces back. Then I walked out and Cam was standing there with his shoes on and his keys in his hand.
"Come on" he said, opening the front door
"Where are we going?" I asked.
"On our first official date"
I smiled. He put out his hand and I took it. We walked to his car, he opened the door for me and then for himself and started the car.
"So where are you taking me?"
"Several places" he said.
We went to magic mountain and ride go carts and played mini golf, and went on the bumper boats. After that he took me to see that new movie Black or White, it was really good. And then we went out to lunch and to the mall. And finally we went to the place where we had shared our first kiss with each other, the park. So in sixth grade, it was Liz's birthday party and we all went to the park. We were playing truth or dare and Hanna dared Cameron to kiss me. We laughed about it and Cam took my hand and led me under the slides and he kissed me, and it was nice but at the time I never thought much about it. We never talked about it until now.
We walked under the slide holding hands.
"Remember our first kiss?" He said
I nodded. He took my hand an led me to the exact spot were we had kissed in sixth grade. He brushed his hand through my hair and leaned in. When our lips touched, I remembered that moment of our first kiss.
