I thought I was invincible

Chapter 33

Liz, Kelsey, Hanna, and I were at
a store looking at homecoming dresses. Skylar couldn't come along because she was getting her dress tailored because she wanted it shorter. We were searching through orange dresses of all different shades when I finally found the perfect one. It was strapless with sequins around the top, down the middle, and then around the waist.
"It's perfect" Liz squealed
"You look amazing!" Hanna said
"I love it" Kelsey added. I got the dress fitted just right and then bought it. Cam asked to see it but I told him that he had to wait until homecoming.
There's only one week left of summer. Today's schedule pick up. Cam picked me up and we went together. We walked into the cafeteria and got our schedules, Cam and I have lunch, ap history, sign language, and health together. We were looking at our schedules when Cam nudged me. "what?" I asked, looking up to see Nash walk in the door "what's he doing here? You said that he wasn't coming to school"
"That's what I thought"
"No, Cam. He can't be here"
"It'll be okay. This is a big school, As long as you don't have any classes with him, you'll never have to see him"
"But what if I do"
"I'll go get his schedule"
I nodded and Cam walked over to Nash. They talked for a minute and then Cam come back over to me with Nash's schedule in his hand. Cam compared his schedule first.
"He's in our lunch and health class, and he's in my art class" Cam said
"And he's in my study hall" I added
"i won't let him talk to you in our classes and in study hall he has to stay in his seat, anyway. It'll be okay, I promise"
I smiled and nodded. We got up and walked over to Nash. Cam handed him his schedule but didn't say a word. Nash tried to look at me but I kept my head down.
We went to my house and hung out in my room. I sat on my bed but Cam was observing my dresser. "what are you looking at?" I asked curiously. he picked up the starfish from my dresser and sat next to me "this" he said. He stroked the starfish with his finger. "Do you remember that one time when we were like 11 and we went to the beach for the whole day and when it got late, we ate and then went on some rides on the pier, and you got sick?"
"And you gave me a starfish to make me feel better" I smiled.
Cam nodded and smiled. He placed the starfish back on my dresser.
"Have you applied to any schools yet?" I asked Cam.
"Duke, Meredith, NCU, and Harvard. You?"
"Harvard and Duke, so far but I haven't heard from either, have you?
"I heard from NCU. I got in"
"Wow that's great"
"Thanks but it's only a state college, not that impressive"
"Well the better colleges still need all of our SAT scores before they can decide"
Cam nodded, "thats true".

I went to Skylar's that night to tell her about how Nash is going to be at our school.
"When is going back to Spokane?" She asked
"I guess when he's done with house arrest" I said
"Do you guys have any classes together?"
"Yeah, 3"
"Oh, I'm sorry. What period do you have lunch?"
"4th"
"Me too! And so does Josh"
"So does Nash"
Skylar's face went dull.
"Well that stinks" she said
"Tell me about it"

A few days later Cam and I went to the pool with Josh and Hanna.
"do you guys wanna go to the diving boards?" Josh asked
"I'm good" Hanna said
"Yeah, same" I added.
"I'll go with you" Cam said
"Josh nodded and they walked over to the diving boards. Hanna and I laid down to tan.
"I can't believe school starts in 3 days" Hanna said
"I know right, but I'm glad it's over, I'm ready for this summer to be over"
Hanna nods in agreement, "When's homecoming this year? I heard its earlier than last year"
"Yeah it is, Its the first Friday of the year" I said
"Seriously? Why so early?"
"I don't know"
"Has Cam asked you yet?"
"Nope. Has anyone asked you?"
"No... but I'm hoping Kyle will ask me"
"Kyle huh? I didn't know you liked him"
"Well we're good friends and he's really sweet so yeah..I kinda do"
"Awe, you guys would be cute together"
"Who would be cute together?" Josh asked, walking up behind us. Cam and Josh sat down on the chairs next to us.
"Hanna and Kyle" I said smiling
"Kyle Matthews?" Cam asked
Hanna nodded.
"Did he ask you to homecoming?" Josh asked
"No, she wants him to" I interrupted
"Keep dreaming" Josh joked
"haha, your so funny. So who are you asking to homecoming, Josh?"
"Sky..."
"Your asking Skylar!!" I squealed
He blushed slightly and nodded.
"She'll say yes! I know she will!" I said, excitedly.
"Well here she comes" Cam said pointing towards the pool entrance where Skylar was walking in.
"Here I go" Josh said, standing up.
