I thought I was invincible

Chapter 20

(Nicolette's POV)
It's been a few days since I last saw Cam so I went over to his house this morning.

"Hey Nicolette!" Mackenzie answered the door

"Hey! How are you?" I asked

"Okay"

"That's good. Is Cameron home?"

Mackenzie nodded and gestured for me to come inside. I slipped off my shoes and Mackenzie shut the door and locked it.

"He's in his room" she said

"Alright, thanks" I walked upstairs and to Cameron's door. It was closed so I knocked.

"Come in!" He yelled

"Hey" I said

He immediately stood up and walked towards me "Hey, we need to talk. I went to your house yesterday but no one answered the door"

"Yeah I was at the beach all day with Liz, what's wrong?"

He pulled his phone out of his back pocket and put his finger on the home button to unlock it. He went to his messages with Skylar and then handed me his phone.

I read the texts. I couldn't believe that Skylar would say something like that about me. But wait. She wouldn't. She wouldn't say that, unless it was true, which it obviously wasn't.

"Nicolette?" Cam took the phone from me slowly.
"Cam I-"
"Didn't do it? I know"
"You know?"
"Nicolette, I love you, and I know you well enough to know that you would never hurt someone on purpose, unless of course they deserve it"
Cam paused.
"But what I don't understand is why Skylar would tell me that you did that"
"Hmmm" I said
I gasped and my eyes lit up
"What is it?" He asked
"When did Skylar send you that text?"
"A few nights ago, when I got home from our date"
"Skylar didn't send you that text!"
Cam got a puzzled look on his face.
"Skylar "lost" her phone at Andrews party last week! Hanna must have taken it so that she could get you to brake up with me!"
"Oh yeah. But why wouldn't she just ask Skylar for her phone, why steal it if Hanna thought that Skylar wanted to help her"
"Maybe Hanna found out that Skylar's helping us"
"Maybe" he said.

Cam and I went over to Skylar's to explain our theory. Skylar agreed with us and suggested that we confront Hanna. So we did. Hanna got really mad at us and tried to convince us that it wasn't true but we knew it was. In the middle of our argument Cam pulled out his phone and called Skylars phone and it rang from inside Hanna's purse. After that she admitted to everything and apologized. Skylar got her phone back and erased the messages Hanna had sent to Cam. (after we saw them).

We're still mad at Hanna but I don't think we'll be mad for long because she seems truly sorry but it's not easy to forgive somebody for doing what Hanna did. Hanna was kind of mad at Skylar for helping us but she'll get over it. Just like she'll get over me telling Aaron that she cheated. Aaron. We told him everything that had happened and he said he had a talk with Hanna about it. He said that he would forgive her whenever we did, but there was still no way that they would be getting back together.

I'm glad that all of this is over. I'm glad that Cam and I can finally have a normal summer and that all of my problems are gone.

Or so I thought.
