- Well, I thought you absolutely wanted to follow us.

Hank and Connor were already on the sidewalk but Angie hesitantly hadn't got out of the car yet.

- You didn't tell me it was some kind of strip club.

- The Eden Club is a hostess bar, Connor clarified.

- Yeah, people come here for… you know what… with androids, Hank tried to explain.

Angie's eyes widened, humans made up anything to satisfy their instincts.  Besides, she was sure it hadn't even lowered human prostitution.

- You comin' ?  It was you who insisted on to come with us.

Angie sighed, but eventually she followed him and the three of them entered the club. They walked along a hallway, completely covered with screens boasting, on bright pink backgrounds, the sexiest androids in town.  Angie rolled her eyes, but she hadn't seen everything yet.

Further on, several models, male and female, practically naked, were displayed in glass tubes to bait customers.  Inside there were other tubes but also pole dance bars with androids doing lascivious dances.  Angie picks up the pace to reach their colleague Ben Collins, who was questioning the owner.  She wasn't very prudish, however, but this place made her uncomfortable.

Ben showed them the room where the murder had taken place, but he also warned them of Gavin Reed's presence.

- Oh, great! Hank commented. A dead body and an asshole, just what I needed...

They entered to begin their investigation.  Gavin greeted them with his usual mockery.

- Lieutenant Anderson and his inseparable little doggies ... The fuck are you doin' here?

- We've been assigned all cases involving androids, Connor told him in his usual neutral tone.

- Oh, yeah? Well, you're wasting your time.

They turned to the victim: a man, lying on a large bed covered with red satin sheets.

- Just some pervert who, uh, got more action than he could handle.

- We'll have a look anyway, if you don't mind, Hank replied.

Inspector Reed turned on his heel.

- Come on, let's go... it's uh... starting to stink of booze in here, he said to Chris Miller, his evening teammate, before going out, not without pushing Connor in the process.

Angie clenched her fists.  Chris left too, apologizing and wishing them good night.  Now that they were quiet, they would be able to try to figure out what had happened in that room. Connor walked over to the man's body without hesitation, he was in his element, he had been designed for this kind of situation, analyzing every detail, every evidence to piece together the events of a crime scene.

- He didn't die of a heart attack, he said, getting up, he was strangled.

- Yeah, I saw the bruises on the neck.

Hank may not have a detective program, but he had the experience on his side.

- Doesn't prove anything though, he continued. Could've been rough play...

- Connor, maybe you can find something with her… Angie said, showing them the body of an android lying on the floor in a corner of the room.

She seemed deactivated.

- You can read her memory, you would see what happened.

- I can try...

He bent down to the woman in underwear, and dipped two fingers in the blue blood that had run down her chin before bringing them to his mouth.
