- Hey !  Take off your shoes before entering!  What happened?

Angie and Connor looked at each other sheepishly like disobeying children.  They had just arrived at Hank's and he was waiting for them on his sofa, a steaming coffee in his hand.

- It's nothing Hank, said the young woman, Sumo made us fall.

- Hey, he did it well.  Connor has mud even on his hair.  Come on, I'll show you where you can wash your face.  I must have clean clothes to lend you.

He stood up, motioning for the android to follow him.  Connor complied, to Angie's astonishment, he let himself be guided by the lieutenant before locking himself in the bathroom with several clothes in his arms, which Hank had found for him. Angie sat down at the kitchen table after washing her hands and waited for her boss to join her.

- We met Jerry at the park, she told him when he sat down across from her.

- Oh yeah, the little redhead!  He walks several neighborhood dogs.  I entrust Sumo to him when I don't have time to take him out.  He's nice.

- Yes he's-

She was interrupted by a resounding cry, like the moan of a wounded animal, which made them jump up to rush into the bathroom.

- You okay, Connor?  We enter !  Hank warned, his hand on the doorknob.

He opened the door and they found themselves facing Connor, shirtless, hands clasped on the sink and head tilted forward.

- What's happening ?  Hank asked a little dumped.

- Connor?

Worried, Angie approached him cautiously.  She held her breath when she noticed that his shoulders, neck, sides and part of his left arm were streaked with bluish scars like his cheek's one.  She reached out her hand to him, calling him again.  When she brushed his shoulder he jumped violently, pulling away as if she had burned him.

- Leave us, Hank, please.

- Sure ?

Angie nodded and the lieutenant obeyed, returning to the living room while letting the door open.  She then resumed for the android that she hadn't taken her eyes off.

- You'd never seen your body before?

He turned his head from side to side, jaws clenched, staring at his reflection in the mirror.

- These are the aftermath of the explosion, she explained.  I remember that several of your parts had completely melted ... They were replaced.

She sighed and stood next to him, facing the mirror and pulled up her bangs which fell to the right of her forehead, revealing a thin irregular white line.  Connor glanced over at her, then faced her, puzzled.

- You're not the only one to have been marked that night, she whispered.

She had no choice, if she wanted to regain his trust she had to reveal herself and trust him in return.

- A piece of metal cut me, she explained.

Then she pulled one by one on the fingers of her glove protecting her right hand.  When she had removed it, she put it on the sink and rolled up her sleeve. Connor's eyes widened when he saw his scorched, scarred skin all over her hand and arm.  She saw him hesitantly stretch his fingers towards her.  Did he want to touch her, to comfort her?  She then came to meet him, placing her hand against his, palm to palm, gently so that he could withdraw it if he wanted, but he let it in place and with this contact, his skin retracted, revealing the structure of his arm.
