T1 • Chapter 11: The Process He Did Not Alter

After everyone left, I turned to face Raishin. We always end up being together, intertwined whenever we lose grasp. Like a two-straight line, although I highly doubt we will just stay looking at each other. There is always one who will defy that.

Every time I look he is there, but he can't be reached- he is too far away to be exact. No one can crack him open or even explain what he is doing. Why is he always shut, and the way he feels so hesitant whenever I ask makes me frustrated at some point.

He is not fond of answering questions. And not that he is a coward, or he doesn't know what to answer. Just like Kenzo said, he suppressed his thoughts and will only respond whenever he sees fit.

And finally. I met Noesis. But I can't read them, and I thought before this chapter will be extravagant, I clearly underestimated the word extra there. Kenzo and Teressa are great people, we just met but they trusted me because I know Raishin. Elizabeth on the other hand might be hard to get along with. There is only one person I haven't met. The person Teressa said was the Hacker. Yet, there are questions left unanswered at the back of my mind.

But aside from that. This man is really my top priority. I will find every means to open up to him about everything I want to know. If it takes time, I will gladly waste them.

"You looked like you were thinking something dangerous," He said, caressing his jaw with his right palm and the other rested on his chest. I really want to know when or what time he can read me and when he can't, so I won't be thinking why he asked that.

"Kailan mo planong sabihin sa akin ng detalyado ang nangyayari?" I rested my arms on my chest and stood in the same intensity as him. May kalayuan ang pagitan namin.

"Basic to basic?" He asked. If he is going to use that as his insurance, I will eventually gain from it. But the underlying question remains: Will Raishin really answer me?

"When was she reported missing?" I asked.

Bahagya akong lumapit. I am glad we are in a shaded area. Masyado talagang mainit. The sun is oozing hot, making everyone I see flap their hands or with any piece of material they can use to reduce the heat they are experiencing. Summer has already ended and yet the temperature of the sun still hurts the skin, or maybe the atmosphere is getting weaker and thinner due to the greenhouse gasses trapped as pollution still occurs.

Napapansin ko na ang ilan sa mga naglalakad ay nagtatago sa kanilang mga payong dahil sa init, ang iba naman ay may pantakip sa kanilang mga mata para hindi mairita sa sinag ng araw. May mga tao rin na todo paypay sa sarili gamit ang kamay o hawak nilang bag para maibsan ang nararamdaman.

The OCIS Dome is provided with air conditioning, kaya magiginhawaan na 'yan sila kung papasok sila sa loob.

"Her roommate said she didn't go home to their apartment last night, like she always did. They lost contact with her, and so, they file a report early this morning, and when I asked the Police in charge of surveillance in the School to look for any CCTV that possibly caught her before she went missing, the result was- "

"She was abducted. Just like in the simulation," I continued his explanation.

Raishin expressed his amusement. "Yes. The Police issued a search warrant. She was seen in CCTV in an alley outside school 22:34 in the evening and was later seen inside the premises 2 hours ago. She went in using the gate, but it looks like she is running away from someone."

I went into thinking. "This reenactment is twisted. First, Anastasia Caez shouldn't be dead. Now, Madeline Gajes started missing last night instead of weeks ago."

"The simulation is fiction. We just made it real." I looked up to Raishin. He must be referring to how my unconscious wishes relive his simulation. I didn't respond. If my ability suddenly granted my inner wish without my permission, it means all these years I've been fooling myself that I am in control of it.
