T1 • Chapter 29: The Truth and The Lie

Telling the truth is like you are asking to be killed. Speaking for the truth is like you are seeking unwanted opinions from others. Being a person who commits to tell the truth, will be accounted for perjury once they are proven to be a false statement. Truths are powerful evidences, but they are misused.

On the other hand, lies are the strongest next to indulgence. One lie can break thousands, one lie can give birth to strings of lies. One single lie can change a person, and one damned lie will break us apart.

Which one has the strongest stance? who knows. We'll just see.

You know, people don't tell the truth- they lie and that lie becomes the truth. Once you start lying you'll never stop doing it. Everyone can lie, and everyone is a liar. It is an aspect of life that is developed through the environment and involvement of people.

Telling the truth is hard these days. Hindi mo alam kung ano ang ihuhugsa ng madla kapag nagsasalita ka na. Lalo na kapag gagamitin ang mga social media platforms bilang daan para magbigay ng opinion.

The rapid rise of people using social media continues to increase, and at the same time, it's credibility is now at stake- because people are using it for either informing others or boasting their own popularity.

Anyway, hindi iyan ang pagtutuunan natin. Actually, wala akong pakialam sa mga isyu na dumadaloy sa social media- hindi agad ako naniniwala lalo na kapag walang concrete evidence na magpapatibay na totoo ang pahayag. As I said. Hindi iyan ang gusto kong sabihin. Lies can be deceiving, and when you are being fooled by it, you lose the game.

"Baby...ano ang magandang gawin this weekend? Manood kaya tayo ng sine?" masiglang tanong ng binata sa nobya niya habang ito naman ay tumitikim lang ng chocolate cake na inorder nila.

Nasa isang coffee shop ako. Seating in a corner alone while sipping my favorite coffee and wandering my eyes around the place- like a common costumer, not minding the surrounding except this couple on my right side. They arrived 30 minutes ago, and I've been here for an hour. Hindi ko naman kasalanan kung malakas ang boses nitong nobyo niya at halos isigaw niya na rin ang sinasabi nito.

"Hindi ko alam, babe. Titignan ko pa ang schedule ko, at kapag may free, sasabihan kita para manood tayo," mahiyaing wika ng nobya niya.

"Sige babe. Sabihan mo ako ah, alam mo naman lagi kitang nami-miss," sagot ng binata.

Gosh. Hindi sa pagiging bitter pero nakakarindi makinig sa mga pabebe moves and pagpapacute ng boses ng lalaking ito kahit hindi naman cute. Kanina pa ako naiinis sa boses n'yan. Gusto ko man umalis pero free day ko ngayon, gusto ko mag relax.

"Uhm...Babe. Hinahanap ako ng kalikasan." Paalam nito sa dalaga at tinungo ang daan papunta sa comfort room. Sinundan ko lang iyon ng tingin at ng mawala ito, bumalik ang tingin ko sa kasama niya.

She's very pretty. Polite. Sweet. Kind. And honestly, I don't get why she is always a subject of gossip- for lying which turn out to be the truth. For speaking something that the society opposes, for using her voice in relaying an opinion, and for being too kind despite the dilemma she's facing.

Tumingin ito sa akin at ngumiti. That girl, that is the reason why people take advantage of you. Ngiti mo palang kitang-kita na mabait ka, at hindi ko talaga gusto na ang mga mababait na dilag na katulad mo ay binansagan na "cheater" dahil lang sa nagmahal ka.

Hindi pa bumabalik ang nobyo nito, at agad na dumako ang tingin ko sa pintuan ng bumukas ito at pumasok ang may katangkaran na lalaki, may dalang itim na backpack at papalapit sa kinaroroonan ng dalaga.
