LILY AND I STARED OUT OF THE WINDOW OF THE ASTRONOMY TOWER, LOOKING AT THE SUNSET OVER THE GREAT LAKE. We came here every day to watch the sunset for the past month, since we started dating.
"Can we stay here forever?" she asked, wrapping her arms around my neck. I immediately put my hands on her tiny waist.
"I think we do have to graduate at some point of time," I joked. She laughed.
"Okay, how about we stay here for Christmas?" she said "It'll be just the two of us and we can do... whatever... we... want."
"Lily we have other plans for Christmas," I said, "Although we could cancel."
"No, you're right," she sighed "I have to go meet my sister."
"Why do you hate her so much?" I asked
"I don't hate her," Lily defended "She just isn't very fond of me so why should I be?"
"I don't know maybe because she's your sister," I said.
"Which is why I agreed to dinner- and is that Sirius?" she asked looking out the window. I looked out and saw a boy with dark brown curly hair and he was wearing a grey jacket very similar to mine. Peter got four similar grey jackets for all of us. I wore mine on my first date with Lily.
"Yeah I think," I said "Is that Marlene with him? Are they dating?" Sirius was walking along the shore of the Great Lake, holding hands with Marlene.
"No, I think they're just hanging out," Lily said "Just as friends maybe."
"Oh, they are definitely not just friends," I said, playfully scoffing a little. They had stopped walking and they started snogging.
"Nope, you're right they are definitely not just friends," Lily said turning around so she wouldn't see them.
"I wonder why either of them didn't tell me?" I said "Did Marlene say a word to you?"
"No," Lily said, shaking her head "Wonder why they are keeping it a secret? Want to ask them?" The sun had set and the full moon shone brightly in the night sky.
"Now?" I asked and Lily nodded "Uh... now is not a very good time. Maybe later."
"Why?" Lily asked.
"It's getting dark outside," I lied "We don't want to get caught by McGonagall now do we?"
"Perhaps not," Lily said, eyeing my curiously. I nervously averted my gaze. Apparently I have a tell. I don't know what it is but Moony told me I have one. Something about how my eyes give it away.
Padfoot came in, bursting through the astronomy tower, panting and gasping for breath.
"Remus... moon... now," he panted. He had an old piece of parchment in his hand and I understood how he knew Lily and I were here.
"But we have time," I said "A couple of hours at least."
"Moon... apex.. something. Point is we don't have time," Padfoot said, finally catching his breath "We need to go now."
"Wait, but how did you know where to find us?" Lily called out, but Padfoot and I were out the door before she could complete her question. We ran into Snivellus on our way.
"Snivellus," I said, spitefully "Flipendo." I didn't have time to deal with him but I just had to hex him.
"What did you do that for?" Padfoot asked "Not complaining but why?"
"I don't know," I said "Just wanted to." We continued along our way, using our map to avoid any other students and professors. It was then I realized that Padfoot deliberately marked our path in a way that Snivellus would be in our path. I'll have to thank him for that later.
Wormtail and Moony were already waiting for us near the Whomping Willow. Moony was in pain and he was struggling to keep his human form and not turn. It wasn't any help all the previous times but Moony insisted on trying.
"I knew you were up to something," I turned around to see Snivellus standing behind us with a smug smile on his face, "Wait till professor McGonagall finds out what her precious Gryffindors are up to. Maybe if I'm lucky, they'll strip you of your head boy title."
"You shouldn't be here," I said "So why don't you go slither back into the little dung infested hole you came from." Out of the corner of my eye I saw a redhead Gryffindor girl standing a couple of feet away from us. Lily. Why was she here. She might have followed Snivellus
"Why don't you go- What's wrong with him," Snivellus pointed at Moony. There was a terrible snarling noise. Moony's head was lengthening. So was his body. His shoulders were hunching. Hair was sprouting visibly on his face and hands, which were curling into clawed paws. The transformation was starting and Moony would soon begin attacking everyone around him.
Moony let out a deafening howl. Padfoot, Wormtail and I dodged his attacks at us. Werewolves can attack and even kill their best friends but I guess they hate their enemies even more because Moony was now charging at Snivellus.
What I did next I did it for Moony, not me, and not for Lily because if Moony killed Snivellus, he wouldn't care now, but he would carry it with him for the rest of his life. I ran as fast as I could and knocked Snivellus out of the way. Moony managed to get tear part of my trousers. Padfoot and Wormtail turned into their Animagus form and managed to lead him away from us.
I had to take care of another problem. Lily looked at me, concern in her eyes. Snivellus was horrorstruck. Neither of them said a word. I decided that it would be best to not say anything. I walked back to the Head's dorm along with Lily. Snivellus went back to the Slytherin dorms. I didn't say anything till the door was shut behind me.
"I guess I have some explaining to do," I said. I knew that at some point of time I would have to tell Lily about this. About Moony being a werewolf and the rest of us being Animagi. I guess that day is today. I'm going to reveal a whole lot of secrets.
A/N: I feel like I make Remus transform waay to much but I have so many things to cram into this story so I just merge like four or five story lines. Spoiler Alert, I'm not making Remus transform again, er- I'm not going to write about it.
