I HAD TO GET MOONY OUT OF THERE, ALL OF US DID. There were a lot of people and a werewolf in a crowd of people is not a very good idea. Stupid full moon.
"We'll be right back, don't follow us," I told Lily. I let go of her hand and walked away. Padfoot, Moony, and Wormtail followed suit. Soon, we were out of sight. We made our way to the exit door but we were stopped by the Aurors.
"Where do you think you are going?" he asked. I pulled out my wand.
"Listen bud, you might want to let us go before there is a bigger problem," I threatened. It probably wasn't a good idea to threaten an Auror who could blow me to smithereens and not look back but time was running out and I had to do something.
"You really think it's a good idea to threaten an Auror?" he asked, laughing.
"We don't have time for this," Padfoot said "Confundo." The confused Auror let us go and we used the floo network to go back to Hogwarts. We raced to get to the whomping willow. Wormtail transformed into his rat form and snuck in through the base. I turned into a stag and Padfoot into his dog form.

Everything went well with the transformation today but Padfoot, Wormtail and Moony were tired. I let them sleep and I went back to my dorm. Lily would be there so I had to go back. If she didn't see me there she would freak out and tell McGonagall and that would create a whole new problem. The whole dorm was empty. I couldn't sleep so I decided to do some homework.
Lily entered the Head's dorm common room at about two in the morning. I stood up at the sound of the door closing.
"Hi, what happened?" I asked. Lily didn't say anything. She just walked over and hugged me. I wrapped my arms around her.
"Karen Smith is dead," she said softly "They finally let us go."
"Any idea who did this?" I asked.
"I think you already know," she said. I didn't know exactly who did it but I had an idea about whose orders they were following.
"I'm just happy you're okay," I said. Lily looked at me and smiled.
"You told me to let you know when I figure out everything," Lily said. I looked at her confused.
"Yeah?" I said "And?"
"And I did," she said. Next thing I know is that she brought her lips closer to mine and kissed me. My nerves were on fire and there was a warm and fuzzy feeling on my lips. We parted and Lily bit her lower lip. I put my thumb on her lower lip to stop her from biting it.
"Hmm... What was that supposed to mean?" I joked. Lily laughed. Her laugh was small and delicate, kind of like chocolate. It's small and sweet and it's the best sound in the universe.
"James Potter, will you go on a date with me?" she asked.
"Uh, Lily I'm sorry but I just don't feel the same way and I would prefer it if we stayed friends," I joked. Lily looked hurt.
"Wha-? I- I- uh I don't understand," she said.
"Lil, I'm joking," I said. She let out a breath of relief and then she punched me in the arm.
"That was for scaring me," she said.
"I don't think I deserved that," I said "I just wanted to see what was the hype about rejecting me."
"It's not funny," she said.
"Now about that date?" I said "Where are we going?"
"I'm going to let you decide," she said "Tomorrow. I'll be ready by seven."
"It's going to be the best first date you've ever had," I said. I kissed her one more time and went to bed.
**********
Dating Lily Evans was one of the best things that ever happened to me. After six years of shameless flirting she was finally mine.
"I'm never letting you go," I whispered in her ear while she fed me a bite of her pancake.
"I don't expect you to," she said.
"Ugh! Will you please stop with all your cute couple stuff," Dorcas complained as she sat with her plate of food "I know you guys are dating and everything but please some of us are trying to eat."
"Don't worry love, she's just jealous," I whispered. Lily laughed and blushed profusely. Padfoot sat down next to Dorcas after a while. Moony and Wormtail were still not up and who knows where Marlene was.
"What did Marlene have to say about me brining Olivia?" he asked. Lily sucked in a breath.
"She was not happy about it," she said "She got really jealous that you asked her 'worst enemy' and that you found her attractive." Padfoot pumped his arm in the air. He was happy.
"Yeah you might not want to do that," Dorcas said pointing at the entrance of the great hall "Marlene is with your brother now."
We all turned towards the entrance and sure enough Marlene was talking to Regulus. She smiled and laughed and put her arm on his shoulder. Padfoot was miffed. He clenched his plate till it flipped over. The plate was empty to it ended up hitting him across the face.
Marlene said good-bye to Regulus and sat down next to Lily.
"What were you and Regulus talking about?" Padfoot asked.
"What? No Hi Marlene? How are you Marlene?" Marlene spat "No I'm going to explain why I asked Olivia Newbury to be my date?"
"You were already going with Peter," Padfoot defended "And I don't have to explain myself to you."
"Then I don't need to explain either," she said "By the way James, congratulations. I knew you two would finally get together after six, long, excruciating years."
"Well, it was only a matter of time before I caved in," Lily said, planting a kiss on my cheek.
"So where are you taking her for your first date?" Padfoot, Marlene and Dorcas asked at the same time.
"I'm not revealing that yet," I said "But it's somewhere special."
