May 2007"Happy happy birthday!" Amanda screamed, jumping on top of Noelle and jerking her awake. "The big 26!! You're so fucking old!"
"God Amanda!" She yelled. "I'm up, I'm up."
"It's girls day, then we'll pick up Brian and Jim. I've got shit planned for us."
Noelle smiled at her friend before opening her phone and seeing texts from Arin. Her smile faded.
Happy birthday babygirl
I love you so much ❤️
I hope you come see me later today, I have a gift for you."Maybe, just maybe, we can see him later." Amanda rolled her eyes. "But I have to be there to make sure he doesn't pull some fuckshit."
Noelle nodded. Today would be good. Because it had to be.
She groggily made her way to the bathroom, taking off the shirt from the night before to quietly gasp. Arin had literally left light bruise marks in her hips from holding her waist down. Jesus fucking christ.
She tried not to think about it as she stepped into the shower and washed away the day before. Brian had left sometime in the night, and waking up in the middle of the night with him gone made her paranoid for reasons she didn't know.
After her shower she pulled on a black dress and a denim jacket, and her usual strappy boots. She had no clue where they were going, but was relieved to see Mandy dressed similarly in a red loose tank top, black jeans and a leather jacket.
"I'm assuming I meet the dress code?" Noelle spun, as Mandy just smiled.
"You're the prettiest I've ever seen you. Come on, there's no time to waste." She said, grabbing her and pulling her out to the car.
Mandy was about five miles above the speed limit, and Noelle was eyeing the meter. "Mandy, holy shit dude, we're going out for a birthday, not to the emergency room. Cool your jets."
Mandy got her second bottle of grape five hour energy out of the glovebox. "Just nervous is all. It's your big day, I want it to be perfect."
"Nervous? Mandy, you're never nervous. When you met Johnny and Zack for the first time, the first thing you told them was Johnny's hair was stupid and Zack's septum ring was crooked."
"It is! Whoever pierced that man should lose their fuckin' job." Mandy rolled her eyes. "And it's not my fault the smaller one looks like Justin Timberlake, macaroni and cheese head ass."
"Oh my god," Noelle put her head in her hands. "This is my best friend. This is the person I chose to be my best friend."
"And life coach. And chauffer. And person making sure your four new besties don't sacrifice you to a blood cult."
"Again with the blood cult!?"
"They're waiting for the perfect moment to stab you and throw your body into a bottomless waterfall!"
"I hate you."
"You love me."
"I do." Noelle giggled, her phone ringing. "God, can Arin just let me cool off for a while?"
