April 2007

On the way to the dinner table, (take a guess where David went out and bought dinner from. If you guessed Walmart, you were correct) Mandy grabbed Brian's hand as he went to get a plate from the cupboard.

"Look, I don't know if you're a voodoo, hypnosis motherfucker or what, but the shit you pulled in the car was weird. I know you saw me. The brake check said it all." Mandy glared. "So what were you doing?"

"I'm a 300 year old soul who was stuck in purgatory until 1997. One of the supernatural abilities that's lingered is dream giving." He said, deadpan.

She let go of his wrist, smacking his arm this time. "Be serious. That was fucking creepy. Noelle is my best friend and she's gone through hell and back so you and your friends better not be scene weirdos trying to get her into a blood cult or some shit."

"Relax, Amanda! No blood cults." Brian assured. "Yet."

He spun on his heels and walked towards the long dark wood table where everyone was already sat serving themselves, Mandy following behind him. He found his spot next to Noelle and smiled at her, her softly smiling back.

"What are y'all, pigs who don't say grace b'fore you eat?" David said sternly. Everyone stopped digging into the food, before David closed his eyes. "Good food, good meat, good god lets eat."

They all laughed as Brian immediately went for the chocolate cake, grabbing himself a slice, and shimmying out one of the packs of mozzarella sticks onto his plate. He grabbed the perfect centerpiece of a burger, and watched Jim make a mortal error.

Jim, in full forgetfulness that he was now a sentient human person, took his cup of steaming hot coffee and chugged it. Mandy's eyes bugged out of her head from next to him as he spat out the drink all over his plate, yelling. "Fuck! Jesus H motherfucking Macy!" He shouted, running to the bathroom.

Mandy let out a giggle followed by Noelle. "What on earth is the matter with that boy?" David looked in confusion to where he once sat. He shifted in his chair. "I like 'im."

"Thanks for the food sir," Matt chowed down on a chicken tender. "It's usually ramen and mountain dew 24/7 in studio."

"No way to live. You've got a liver and a gallbladder for a reason, use it boy." David slapped Matt's back.

"Daaad." Ellowyn rolled her eyes as David laughed at her embarrassment.

"So when am I gonna meet this Arin boy?" David embarrassed her further as her cheeks turned bright red. "Ain't no excuse by now Ellie."

"We're not really at the family stage yet," She poked her food around her plate. "It's not a huge deal."

Jim came out of the bathroom, chugging a glass of cold water. "Uh, Davey, my man, do you by chance have any ice in this house?"

"Do I look rich to you?" He cocked his head.

"Wait, but ice is water," Mandy looked at her plate confusedly.

Noelle put her head in her hands and counted to ten.

"David's the same David I remember." Brian shook his head with a smile, looking at the ground as him and Ellowyn walked. They had went for a walk down the street once almost everyone else had gotten settled in for bed, the streetlights illuminating the dark. "And these roads feel the same to. I didn't want to ask earlier today, but..."
