June 2007

"GO THE FUCK AWAY ARIN OR I SWEAR TO GOD I WILL SICK AMANDA ON YOU!" Noelle shouted from the opposite site of the door.

"Come on baby, just let me in!" Arin shouted back. "You at least have to let me give you your gift!"

"AN APPROPRIATE GIFT WOULD BE YOUR BALLS ON A PLATTER LIGHTLY SALTED!" She shrieked back. "AND I KNOW A GIRL WHO CAN HAVE THAT ARRANGED!"

"Don't make me use my key Noa," He said, and she heard him fumbling with a ring of keys. Surely enough, the apartment door swung open, and an Arin with a busted nose arrived in the doorframe with a small package.

Noelle choked out a laugh at his nose, looking him up and down. "Nice." She said.

Arin softly smiled back to her. "Yeah, Mandy got me good."

"You must've misinterpreted that laugh. It wasn't friendly. It was schadenfreude." She smiled back bitterly, turning around and heading to her kitchen. She couldn't keep Arin out and hadn't called Mandy so she was stuck in this one (until Mandy got home from work at least).

"Please, just listen to me Noelle." He walked up to her, each step he took her taking a step back. "Are you seriously afraid of me or some shit?"

"I'm not afraid," she quit walking backwards as he came up to her. "You just hurt my feelings more than anyone on earth besides one person has. Man, I'd say that hurt worse than my mom. I was just mad at her... I was disrespected by you."

"And I will do anything I can to make that up to you." He begged. "You are the best thing that ever happened to me and I'm not just gonna let you slip away."

"Oops, I slipped." She said, heading towards a room she could lock herself in away from him. He grabbed her hand to stop her, opening the small box. "Jesus fucking Christ Arin!"

She looked at the giant rock in front of her. How much money did this motherfucker drop?! "I was gonna propose to you. On your birthday. But the timing wasn't right because of the day befores fuck up, and then I got really really drunk."

"The girl," Noelle looked up to him. "Did you... did you know her?"

"I had never met her before. And we were both drunk off our asses. I couldn't even tell you her name."

"So you ruined our relationship because of someone who's name you can't remember?" She shook her head in disbelief. "Maybe if it was just you who had been drunk, I could've blamed the girl... god Arin! Why the fuck did you have to do this?!"

"If you give me one more chance I'll prove I can be better." He said, dropping to both of his knees in front of her. "I am literally on my fucking knees right now, begging the ground you walk on to give me one more chance. I can be the man you need me to be. I love you, Noa."

The lump in her throat grew as she looked anywhere but him. "We aren't getting married. I might've said something different on my birthday, before you cheated. But we won't get married."

"But...?" He trailed off.

"I'll think about it, okay?" She said, wiping the tears from her eyes. He got up, pulling her into a hug and she hating how familiarly comforting his hugs were. She laid her head on his chest as he squeezed her, right as she heard the door click and saw Matt and Mandy enter the apartment with bags of groceries.
