Just an author's note. I don't speak Spanish one bit. I am using google translate for everything here so if it doesn't make any sense, I apologize. And this goes for the rest of the story. Thank you all for the support on this story, and stay weird ;D

The human tossed and turned as she plays the day over and over again in her head like a recurring nightmare. She squeezes her eyelids tightly shut as the rays of the sun beaming down on her from the stained glass window situated in her room. Luz wakes up immediately and realizes that it wasn't just a dream, but was reality. 

"It wasn't just a dream," Luz says in shock as she looks around her once inhabited room all those years ago. She now sits up in her sleeping bag, which hasn't been washed or moved in four years, and really looks around the room. "Wow. Nothing's changed in here." She looks at the Azura poster up and down "Except the piles of dust collected." The human sneezes at the comment and stretches to get ready for the day she didn't have planned.

As Luz moved, she felt a weight rollover and then followed by a loud thud "Weh!" King yelled as he was so rudely awoken. He rubs his skull and scolds his boo-boo-buddy "Hey, watch it, will ya? Can't royalty get some beauty rest over here?"

Luz laughs "Sorry King." She then picks up King and begins to give him a belly rub "Can you ever find it in your royal heart to forgive me?"

The demon relaxes at the touch of Luz and allows her to give him the scratchies "You are forgiven!" He then immediately falls back asleep, causing Luz to roll her eyes.

"King~" Luz drags out the demon's name, signaling that she's getting up. He sighs, and reluctantly gets up and lies back down on the sleeping bag where Luz's legs are not situated. She lets out a half-hearted laugh and gets up from the floor to get ready for the day.

The human puts on her outfit and looks out the window to see the Boiling Isles. It all still feels unreal, and a small part of her still doesn't believe that all of this is real. She sighs and takes in the view of the boiling sea and the monsters jumping in and out of the hot waters. After admiring the purple hue of the sky and sea, Luz takes out her phone for the first time and sees all the text messages from her mother.

Buenos días cariño. ¿Como esta todo?

Luz mentally facepalms as she realizes that she is going to have to lie to her mother all over again. So, she puts her phone down for a moment and rubs her face in preparation. Then after a moment, Luz picks up her phone and answers back.

Hola mamá. Todo esta bien. Llegué y
creo que me va a gustar aquí.

¡Esas son buenas noticias!
I'm so happy to hear that mi amor.

I'm actually just getting ready for the day, but
