I look at the time on the stove as I stand, to decide my next move.
7:30pm
Just got home after I stood by my mother for almost an additional hour while she spoke to someone else and wouldn't let me leave.
I felt weird about Megan staying on her own so I begged her to stay in my penthouse with me.
She comes over after work, but I'm not sure why I'm so damn scared. Nervous? Anxious? Potato. Potato.
I want things to look right when Megan gets here, even though I keep to my room and barely move shit, I rarely use my own kitchen.
I try to distract myself by trying to fix up the living room but before I can move, the doorbell goes off.
I open it to find Megan.
She's got a little sweat on her forehead, has her purse and duffel bag, at her side, and based on her clothes I can tell she just got out of work.
"Princess." I smile.
Seeing her in front of me makes my worries wash away. I stand there smirking up a storm for a second before I move out the way so she can come in.
She gives me a kiss on the cheek, "Hey Bey, thanks again."
"No problem, I just want you safe." I say truthfully.
"Thank you for that."
"No problem, choose any room," I state as I grab her bags for her. "I was wondering what you would want to eat, I just got here too."
"I'll eat anything, I ain't picky." She winks at me and I follow her down the halls.
She's seen my place a fair amount of times on facetime. She knows her way around.
She proudly walks into my bedroom.
"You positive?" I ask with an arched brow.
She nods confidently at that.
I don't question her further about it. I can't lie I want her close too. For my own reassurance, that is.
"Why?" She raises her brows with a smile.
"Nothin' I'm just askin'." I say. "Was working okay?"
She sighs and nod.
"C'mon, let's sit."
I drop her bags by my closet and sit on my bed, patting the spot next to me.

Megan fell asleep at my side after some take out.
It's Saturday morning so I'm not in a rush to go anywhere.
I stay in bed and watch her sleep pridefully. She's not awake so it's assume it's not a big deal.
I readjust her bonnet a bit as it's slightly on her eye. I might've been to rough with it because she's awake.
"Mornin'."
She turns and buries her face in my chest. She looks up at me and immediately I fluster up.
"Mornin'. Yo bed comfy."
"Thanks. Sleep good?"
She nods.
It feels good to wake up with Megan by my side. Reminds me of all that I missed about her. And stuff I didn't know I missed.
After staring at me she opens her mouth, "Beyoncé..."
"Yes, Megs."
She looks into my eyes, tears her gaze away then looks back.
"Sup, Princess?"
"Nun, never mind."
She looks defeated. I can tell it's about something.
"Huh? What's wrong?" I ask. "You can tell me."
"I'm kinda scared of Wallace."
It makes my chest clench.
"It's okay. You came over in an unmarked car. We took all the measures needed, he ain't a problem."
"I know, but I get to overthinkin' and I scare myself, Bey."
"Well I promise you, Megan. On everything, that weird ass nigga ain't touchin' or doin shit to you, period. I promise."
She smiles and hugs on me tight as hell. It just wouldn't sit well in my conscious if I didn't help her out. I really do care for Megan in a way that is slowly becoming comforting.
"I swear, Megan on everything." I insist.
I spent so long without Megan, and I'm not gonna let a creep take her from me.
