"Ladies," Alice, Denali's mom spoke as they were all having breakfast, "we are going to spend the day at the lake." She said, pointing at Rosé's dad, "Do you mind to go to the grocery store?"

"Together?" The girls asked, looking at each other.

"Yes?" Alice gave them a puzzled look. "There's something wrong?"

"No, not at all." Rosé replied with a smile. "Of course we can go."

"Yeah." Denali replied too. "We should dress." She said, and they stood to change their pajamas.

As soon as they entered the room, Denali's phone rang. She looked at the screen just to see Joey's face on it.

"Hey." She picked up the video call.

"Hey baby." He replied form the other side of the line. "I was wondering if you wanted to get some ice cream later?"

Denali hesitated for a moment, as she glazed over Rosé, who turned around and began to look for clothes. "Yeah, sure."

"Rosé is invited too." Joey added.

"I'll ask her." Denali gave him a little smile through the screen. "I have to go now. See you later." She hanged up, and looked at Rosé. "I'm sorry." Denali said to her.

"For what?"

"For everything," Denali sighed.

"Don't worry;" Rosé shook her head, "it hurts a little less each time."

That statement made Denali's heart break into a million pieces, but she tried to ignore it. "So..." She said, "Are you up for the ice cream?"

"That's not my place to be, Denali." Rosé replied, as she threw an oversized hoodie over the tank top she was wearing as pajamas, and removed her sweatpants from underneath the hoodie, not letting Denali see anything, and put on a pair of ripped jeans. Then she caught Denali staring at her. "What?"

"Nothing."

"You were staring."

"I wasn't." Denali's tone raised up.

"Whatever you say." Rosé said, opening the door. "Now change your clothes, I'll be waiting outside."

Moments after, Denali walked out of the room too, and Alice approached them.

"Baby, here's the list." The woman said, giving a small paper to Denali. "You can also get whatever you guys want, just make sure to get this stuff, okay?" She gave them a smile. "Oh, here's the money." She said, giving it to Rosé. "I don't trust Denali with money." She whispered.

"Hey!" Denali fussed. "I heard that."

"I wanted you to hear that." Alice replied, making Rosé giggle and Denali pout.

The girls left the house, and walked to the closest grocery store.

"What are you going to wear tonight?" Denali asked, as they took a shopping cart.

"I don't really know, I was thinking about a pink dress or something like that." Rosé replied.

"I can't believe Jan is turning 18 today." Denali said with excitement. "She can go to jail now."

"Yeah, she can." Rosé laughed.

"Okay so..." Denali began as they started to grab the things from the list, "Are you sure she doesn't know anything about the surprise party?"

"Yes, I'm sure." Rosé affirmed. "Nicky is taking her to shopping to 'celebrate her birthday', and then she will lead her to the party.

"Will Jan's parents be there?" Denali asked.
