a/n last draft I have I'll be home tomorrow so I'll update sometime later this week !!

"i call window seat!" weston whisper-yells to me and kalynn as we follow behind him, boarding the plane.

"go right ahead," i say, and weston scoots into an empty row of three.

i sit down in the middle, and kalynn sits at the end in the aisle. i'm suddenly very thankful it's two rows of three rather than three rows of two. it would make things a lot more complicated if it were that way.

"so, what do you guys want to do for the next two hours?" weston asks, leaning forward so he can look at both of us.

kalynn shrugs. "i didn't think that far ahead."

"wow! that's surprising!" i tell her. "kalynn koury didn't think ahead?"

"so surprising," she says with fake shock.

i close my eyes. "maybe i'll sleep the entire time."

"have fun with that," kalynn says, scrolling through her phone.

"i have some music downloaded, do you wanna listen with me?" weston asks, skimming his hands through his backpack. he pulls out a pair of airpods.

"sure," i say, holding out my palm. he hands me the left airpod and i put it in my ear, waiting for something to begin playing.

a few songs by taylor, olivia, lorde, and other various artists i know circle through, and i watch weston sing the wrong lyrics under his breath.

the plane begins to move, and it starts to gain speed after a minute. kalynn, weston, and i all look out the window as we take off into the sky, the buildings underneath us getting smaller and smaller.

-

my body jolts awake at the rough landing, and i gasp, clutching the two arm rests next to me.

both of my arms collide with one of weston's and one of kalynn's. i laugh shakily. "sorry, forgot where i was."

weston's worried look disappears and he grips my hand, giving the face of it a kiss. i look over at kalynn to see her staring at us.

"you good?" i ask.

she shakes her head. "sorry, just something i have to get used to."

i smile and nudge her shoulder. "yes you do."

we get off the plane and walk up the long hallway to see my mom, colin, and weston and kalynn's parents standing there with anxious expressions.

my smile grows as i wrap my arms around my brother and mom. "hi guys," i say into their necks.

"hey sav," colin says as we pull out of the embrace. i have to look up to meet his eyes, he's always been so much taller than me.

"hi savannah," my mom smiles lightly. she's never been a very excitable person.

"weston and savannah, congratulations!" weston's mom, cyndi, says from behind me. i had called my mom and brother the night of fourth of july to tell them that me and weston were official, and i guess weston did the same. or she saw from his instagram post, whichever works.

i beam up at her as she gives me a large hug. "thank you!"

"it's been so long," she says, and brushes a few hairs out of my eyes. "how've you been?"

"i've been great, how are you?" i reply.

she smiles. "amazing."

i look around me at all the people in my life, and can't help but feel nothing but content. colin is giving weston a noogie, and kalynn is talking to my mom and her mom very enthusiastically.

"flake!" i exclaim, walking over to him. "how are you?"

"hey sav," he says with a grin, giving me a firm handshake. "i'm good!"

"good, good," i reply.

"hey, we should probably go get our bags," kalynn suggests, and we all make our way over to baggage claim.

it takes us about 10 minutes to get everything together, and we walk out of the airport to the parking garage.

"i drove in my car separately, so we can all go home together without them." colin says, gesturing to our parents.

we all nod, laughing together.

i spot colin's familiar toyota and begin walking quicker towards it.

"who's sitting up front with me?" colin asks, turning around to face us with his keys in hand.

"i will," kalynn volunteers. "these two cannot stand being apart, it gets kind of obnoxious."

"rude!" weston says.

"yeah, you're just jealous," i say to the both of them, opening the car door and slipping inside.

colin scoffs as he gets in the drivers seat. "am not."

"yes you are," i say. "have you found anyone colin?"

he starts the car in silence, and weston and i give each other funny looks.

"no," he finally says.

"exactly, point proven," i say, leaning back in my seat proudly.

kalynn turns around to look at me. "is this what you feel like when me and weston argue?"

i laugh. "yeah, now you get to feel my pain."

we continue the car ride, laughing and talking about our current lives. it's amazing to catch up, and i don't think i've laughed this hard in a long time.

colin pulls up into our driveway, and i look up at the house i've lived in my entire life. smiling, we all walk through the front door.
