It was Gym Class and we had to change into our wolves. We were trying to strength them up in case of a Rogue werewolf attack. But seeing as I’m the next Alpha, I didn’t really have to train. The problem is, no one knows I am the next Alpha so I had to pretend that I was behind everyone else whereas in reality, I could rip any of these people’s throats out; anywhere and anytime.

Coach tested us on our agility, stamina and flexibility skills when Mr. Arley stepped out from behind the bleachers. My wolf instantly stood up from the grass, where I was faking panting- pretending to be exhausted from the exercise. His eyes immediately met mine and my wolf slowly took over me as it began walking towards him whilst y human was screaming for me to turn back. Mr. Arley stopped in his tracks as I approached him.

I heard the coach’s shot gun and immediately stopped what I was doing and turned back. Ali was giving me weird side glances through her hazel eyes. I shook my head at her, giving her a warning glare to drop it. The gym class soon finished and we changed back to our humans. I saw Mr. Arley talking to Coach by the bleachers. Mr. Arley was talking so animatedly and Coach listening intently. He suddenly went quiet when I walked past and Coach gave me a worried look. What the hell in going on?!?

I searched my school bag to find my new year’s schedule and saw that I had chemistry. I sighed and walked to AP Chemistry. I took my seat at the far back of the classroom, slumping as low in my chair as possible. Ali wasn’t in the class but Jeremy was. In classes his friends were in he would stay as far away from me as possible but because they aren’t in this class (they are all a bunch of meatheads) he would seat next to me like he always would in our other AP classes.

Jeremy hadn’t arrived yet so I put my bag in the chair beside me saving him a place and put my head down on the desk waiting for Mr. Arley to come and my horror to begin. He obviously wasn’t my mate- it was probably some high school crush. You know, a lot more girls could already have crushes on him. My inner wolf instantly growled at the thought of some other girl making googly eyes at him and sticking out their chest as far as possible.

“Ms. Sanchez? Is there a Melissa Sanchez here?” A voice called, snapping me out of my thoughts as I looked up to see him scanning to room from someone. My head had been down all this time and I was in the corner of the room so he probably hadn’t notice me yet.

“Here,” I mumbled raising my hand so he could see me even if he hadn’t heard me but he obviously did as he eyes sparkled as they stared at me. My wolf howled at him as it longed to be in his arms. It seemed that we were gawking at each other for ages before a tall body cam bursting through the door, panting.

I rolled my eyes not even bother to look at the door as I felt my brother’s presence. “Sorry I’m late, sir.” Jeremy said breathlessly. As he scanned the room for me, his face lit up when he saw me and sat down in the chair next to me, moving my bag.

“How have you been?” He said to me telepathically.

“Fine.” I snapped back to me.

“Ouch, someone is moody. I can feel the chills. It’s so cold!” He mocked with a smirk on his face.

I rolled my eyes and blocked his attempt to communicate with me. Only I would have been cursed with being a twin with Jeremy, meaning that I could talk to him through his mind and likewise. He would always be a part of me whether I liked it or not.

“Ms. Sanchez! Maybe you would like to explain what Fractional Distillation is.” He said to me obviously hoping that I wouldn’t know the answer. But I did.

“Fractional distillation is a manufacturing process that separates the different components, that is fractions in a chemical mixture according to their different boiling points. The liquid is raised to boiling and vapours pass through a tubular column where temperature is gradually lowered along its length. Components, or fractions, with a higher boiling point condense on the column and return to the solution. Fractions with a lower boiling point pass through the column and are collected. Gasoline, kerosene and naphtha are fractions separated from crude oil using fractional distillation.” I recited my text book answer and watched his astonished face and I smirked. “I’m in AP Chemistry for a reason, sir.” Everyone in the class chuckled at my last part and my smirk grew. He glared at me and turned back to the class.

I slumped in my chair suddenly feeling lousy. Class was almost over and I looked down to my notebook to see that I had been taking notes without realising it then I turned to my brother’s book and saw his blank page and he actually was paying attention. I shook my head and picked up my bag to leave.

“Ms. Sanchez, I would like to talk you.” He said without looking up. I looked at where I was standing and saw I was steps away from the door. I sighed in frustration and turned on my heel and walked towards him.

He watched the last person walk out the door, who was Jeremy, and when the door closed he looked at me. “I did not like you undermining me in class.” He said with authority in his voice.

“Well, sir, I do not like how you look at me like I’m something you scrape from the bottom of your shoe. I know you’re my teacher and all but at least have the decency to keep a straight face instead of glaring all the time.” I snarled. He cocked up his right eyebrow.

“I do not look at you l-” He began but I cut him off.

“Yes, you do!” I exclaimed. “And when you don’t you give me those weird looks. I don’t know what your problem is but you need to stop.” I spat.

“Look here, young lady! Who do you think you are?!” He raised his voice at me getting up. I didn’t move a muscle.

“I think I am the Alpha’s daughter.” I growled. “And I think it’s about time that you treat me with some damn respect.” With that, I spun on my heel and started towards the door.

“Get back, here. I’m not finished with you.” He called after me. I rolled my eyes and looked heavenwards but still looked at him, questioningly. “Just because of your attitude, I want you to come back tomorrow morning and help me set up for your lab lesson.” He smirked. I narrowed my eyes at him.

“I don’t think so.” I muttered.

“Well, I do unless I give you an hour detention right now and you can help me set up at this very moment.” His face had arrogant written all over it.

“Fine. I will see you tomorrow.” I mumbled before stomping out of the door.

“Bye, Ms. Sanchez.” He sang, closing the door behind me.

I ran out of the school knowing Jeremy would kill me for being late but noticed that the car park was scarce. I growled and began walking home, knowing it would take a good 30 minutes and there is no way in heaven or hell that I would take the bus with all the germs and what not.

I was five minutes into my walk when torrential rain began pouring over me and I being me did not bring a coat or umbrella to school as I thought that it would stay sunny all day; stupid weather. I slung my bag off my shoulder and used it as shelter as I began running home. A car was slowing down beside me. I walked over to it when it honked and the windows rolled down. Yes, in the car was Mr. Arley, smirking at me.

“Do you need a ride?” He grinned at me. And I nodded and got in. “Hey! I never said you were allowed in!” He sneered and I narrowed my eyes at him menacingly. He laughed as he began driving. The car was silent apart from me telling where I lived. When we got there five minutes after and I was about to get out of the car, I felt a hand on my arm.

I looked at him inquisitively and he opened his mouth but closed. “I’ll see you tomorrow.” He finally said and I mumbled a bye before running into my suburban white picket fence house and slammed the door behind me, ready to rip my brother’s throat out.

“Jeremy Leo Sanchez, you get your butt down here before I drag it down here myself!” I yelled at the top of my lungs. There was no answer but giggles were coming from the living room. I walked into see my brother and his friends giggling their heads. “What’s so funny that you guys are giggling like a bunch of little girls?” Their heads snapped towards me and looks of scorn were shot my way. I put my hands up defensively and backed away from the living.

“I’ll get you later.” I told him telepathically.

He gulped inwardly as I climbed my way to my bedroom with an evil smile. You should never mess with the Alpha’s daughther.
