Chapter Eight
Ben Arley
“Sarah!” Sarah’s mother gasped from the doorway where she was holding me captive. I relaxed as her hold over me had let go. Ms. Black walked into Sarah’s lavish bedroom putting the tray on her bedside table. “Sarah, how many times do we have to tell you can’t keep doing this to people?” She shook her head in disappointment. “And to darling Ben... how are you, Ben?” She turned to me. I gave her a tight smile.
“Well, I would be better if these ropes weren’t so tight on my wrist.” I mumbled. She tutted at Sarah as Sarah rolled her eyes. Ms. Black walked up to me and took off the ropes behind me. “Thank you, Ms. Black.” I held my wrists and began twisting them.
“No problem, Ben, it wasn’t your fault. You can leave now.” She gave me a sickening sweet smile, which could be menacing at times. I nodded and left the room without a second glance.

Mr. Arley should hopefully be back today. I haven’t seen him since Tuesday; the day of the incident. My dad has been asking around for the whereabouts from him but no one knows. But I have an alright guess. Her pack has obviously taken him hostage. Luckily, I killed her so she was out of the way. All I have to do was say that this was just one big misunderstanding and my wolf took over and it was all the hormones and blah blah blah... and everything would be fine.
Everything is just a bit off. Why didn’t he leave with me when he had the chance too? I can’t ask myself too many questions though. All I have to say is that I hope that he is okay because we really have to talk. I have to tell him that he is my mate before this month’s Life Cycle Moon. The faster I tell him, the faster I relieve my father of these Alpha duties because I can see it is taking a toll on the old man. Well, he isn’t old. He is only thirty seven and my mother is only thirty five. She had me when she was eighteen because they found out they were each other’s mates when she was fifteen. My father made sure that she graduated high school before they ever settled down. This is really irrelevant by the way.
My alarm clock beeped beside me and I smashed it. It doesn’t matter that I am already awake; it annoys the crap out of me. It’s like a fly; it isn’t doing anything to you but you still want to swat at it because it is incessantly irritating. I could hear my brother creep his way towards my room and I rolled over on to my side; pretending to be asleep. He burst in and started playing Friday by Rebecca Black. I’m going to kill him and that stupid thirteen year old for ever making that song. He started singing along with it.
“Seven am, waking up in the morning. Gotta be fresh, gotta go downstairs. Gotta grab my bowl, gotta have cereal. Seeing everything, the time is going. Ticking on an on, everybody’ rushing-” I didn’t let him finish that verse before jumping out of the bed and tackling him to the ground and making us tumble down the hallway. The song was still playing from his phone in the background, making me groan. My dad came out of his room and looked at us and shook his head- his eyes still half closed and hair all over the place.
“You,” he pointed to Jeremy, “get off her and in the shower,” he mumbled. “And Princess, save your arguments until later, okay?” I nodded and smiled sweetly as Jeremy got off me. When dad went back into his room, I smirked at Jeremy and he just stuck his tongue out at me and I scowled in return.
I stomped back to my room and stepped on his phone, breaking it in the process. I’m in the smashing mood, this morning. Who am I kidding? I’m in the smashing mood every morning. I grabbed my school bag and began putting my books in my bag when I saw a note lying on my Chemistry text book. It read:
