I sat at my desk after coming back from the meeting. Liam went to lay down and I was able to get alone time to think. Something was going on with Francesco and I didn't like it. Why me? Why was I the choice for him?

Luciana walked into my room and sat down on my bed.

"Ciao." I smiled. "Volevi parlarmi?" [You wanted to talk to me?] I nodded and turned around to face her.

"Continuo a pensare alla faida tra Rossi e Martinelli. E sull'aereo, Laura mi ha detto che le risposte potrebbero essere a Los Angeles." [ I keep thinking about the feud between Rossi and Martinelli. And on the plane, Laura told me that the answers might be in Los Angeles. ]

"Sì, she told me about it. But the only way to find out would be to go there." I nodded.

"I was thinking about going just not right now. But there's also something that I first heard from Camilla. This morning I spoke about it with Liam too." Luciana crossed her arms.

"The mission where the Martinelli were the targets?" I nodded. "Yeah, that was quite the mission." I looked at her confused. "You probably know when it happened but Lorenzo and I were looking through the project ROMAR files and found one that was supposedly stolen from the Rossi estate."

"Cosa?" What the hell? Were the Rossi responsible for all of the shit that's just now coming to light?

"I'll show you it later, but it basically had the evidence that Vincenzo was somehow responsible." Oh god, fucking Vincenzo.

"Lo giuro, è responsabile di tutto." [I swear, he's responsible for everything.] She smiled.

"That's the thing. We might have to go against our blood and then our rivals."

"Who cares if he's blood? Blood doesn't define family and if he's been going behind our backs this whole time, then he'll pay the consequences. I don't give a damn if he's blood or not."

"I could go to LA." I shook my head no.

"You can't. It's not safe enough."

"No one can kill me that easily, tesoro." I smiled.

"Fidati di me, lo so." [Trust me, I know.]

"But seriously, I just need security and that's it. Damiano can accompany me."

"I don't know. My gut is telling me that that isn't a good idea." Luciana smiled.

"I swear; I'll be fine." I knew that my gut was telling me the truth but Luciana always got her way. If only she had listened to me. "I'll need to look for the diary and get the hell out of there." I nodded.

"If possible, try to find the autopsies. I don't know if it'll all be there but it would make sense if they're there." She nodded and stood up. "And please, be safe."
