Tears were falling from my eyes while reading the letter. I had the biggest smile on while reading it but the fact that he's no longer mine, was hurting me.
I reread the letter a few times and with each one, it felt as if it was the first time reading it. He was my everything. In the span of two weeks, I fell in love with someone I would've never thought I'd ever been with. He was the missing piece in me. Just like I was to him.
I grabbed the box and held it in my hands. Tears fell on it, leaving small drops on the lid. I wiped them off with my thumb. I was nervous to do this. This wasn't just a cute gift. It was from the person I deeply loved. A person that I had to push away.
I opened the box and saw a gold ring with a rose that had a ruby stone in the middle. It was gorgeous. I took it out of the box and looked at it closely. I noticed a black card in the box with something in white ink.

A tear rolled down my cheek. It was like a promise ring. Promising me his love.
I put it on my left ring finger and smiled. It was the prettiest ring I'd ever seen. It looked amazing with the ring that my family gave me. A piece of Liam. A piece of my heart.
I placed the letter on my bedside table and put away the small box. I got out of bed and went to my vanity to fix my make-up. My mascara was basically washed off by tears, that left trails on my cheeks. I covered it all and heard a knock on the door.
"Ciao, figlia," my father came in. I smiled and finished putting powder on my face. "There's something that you should see." I looked at him. "Would you join me in the meeting room?" I nodded before I stood up to follow him.
We got to the meeting room quickly and as I walked in everyone stood up.
"Sedersi." Everyone sat down and so did I. "What's the deal?" I looked at Lorenzo.
"Last week Dante and Luciana signed a trade deal with the Browns." I nodded. Dante had told me about this while Liam was in London. The Browns were a powerful mafia family from the US and we've been trying to establish a good relationship with them for a few years now. "They approved the trade three days ago and sent out a shipment of weapons two days ago. Long story short, it was destroyed." I raised my brows and crossed my arms over my chest.
"So, did we already pay for it?" Lorenzo shook his head no. "And do they know?" He nodded. "Do we know who it was?" He nodded.
"I informed them this morning and it was Vlad." I nodded. "They don't expect for us to pay soon but they do want the money. They said that they understand it wasn't done by us and gave us time to get the money back from Vlad."
"Yeah, unless he's dead he won't give us the money." Lorenzo nodded.
"He still hasn't asked anyone about Igor." I chuckled.
