I walked up to my room and opened the door. I walked in and went towards the side of the bed where Celeste was sleeping. I placed the food on the bedside table. Just as I sat down on the bed right beside her, her body began to slowly move around.

"Hey," I placed my hand on her shoulder before she opened her eyes. She looked around and after noticing me, smiled. "You alright?" She nodded, making me feel slightly better. Like another rock was lifted off my chest. "I made you breakfast." Her eyes widened as I took the plate in my hand.

"Mr Martinelli made me breakfast?" I smiled as she sat up carefully, her back pressed against the headboard. I handed her the food before she placed it on her lap.

"There's orange juice on the table if you'd like." She smiled as she took the first bite.

"Oh god, this is good," Cel said with her mouth full, making me smile.

"Glad you like it. How are you feeling?"

"Not bad. My head still hurts but other than that, I feel okay." I nodded. "What happened yesterday after I passed out?"

"You want all of it?" She nodded. "Alright, after you passed out, I carried you into the house and as I did so, Aldo saw me. I asked him to get Laura, who eventually came in with your brothers, parents and Lorenzo. They stayed here for a bit while Laura checked you out. She asked most of them to leave so Giorgia, Lorenzo and I stayed."

"And my father allowed that?" I nodded.

"He didn't even bother to suggest otherwise. He said that he trusted me to keep an eye on you." Dante was far more different from his father. It was strange since, in the past, he tried to keep his image as the cold and merciless mafia don that didn't give two shits about what his family wanted. I guess he successfully proved everyone wrong in the past months as his true self resurfaced. Or I should rather say - appeared.

"Laura said that you were drugged and that it wasn't too bad but she took some blood to get it tested. I guess the one who ordered the drug didn't want to harm you long-term." She ate as her attention went from her breakfast to me and vice versa. "Also your parents, Laura and Lorenzo know that we're dating."

"You told them?" Something in her eyes told me she wasn't too fond of what I'd just said. I couldn't help but find her annoying self extremely attractive.

"Your mother hugged me while your father gladly approved of us." I kept my last conversation with Dante to myself since there wasn't much for her to know from it.

Either way, I'm sure she's aware her father would kill me if I even touch her the wrong way.

Mafia men and their possessiveness.

"Well, I can't say that I expected anything else from them, but I wasn't expecting for you to tell them." She took the last bite before I grabbed the plate and placed it on the table. I grabbed the glass of juice before handing it to her. "But it's fine." She took a small sip. "Anything else?" I shook my head no.
