"I'm leaving."
———
"Do...you have to?" Qiqi pleaded, softly grabbing onto his leg.

"Come now my little Qiqi, sweet (M/N) will be back soon." Baizhu said.

Baizhu took Qiqi into his arms as he waved (M/N) off at the bridge. (M/N) left Liyue with a smile, passing through the gates with ease and making his way back, collecting any chests he could. He wasn't expecting to see Childe and Zhongli on the path but the two were there. Hu Tao was too who yelled out her cheers before leaping onto (M/N), eager smile on her face.

"Yahoo~ We knew you wouldn't be passing the funeral parlour so we came here instead!" Hu Tao giggled.

"That's nice of you, could you explain why Zho is holding a package please?" (M/N) asked.

"You see buddy, Mr Zhongli wanted to gift you a gift for buying a coffin. I just wanted to fight you again." Childe said as he grinned.

"Indeed, a thank you gift to keep good ties between us. Would you like to open it?" Zhongli asked.

Confused, (M/N) carefully took the gift from Zhongli before staring at it, wondering if his hands should rip into the present or not. Hu Tao look mischievous when he eventually tore it open. There was a kite with a rather fantastic design on it and a black box. His fingers lightly hovered over the box before pulling it off. A pair of beginners chopsticks. It had a ghost design on it. It also came with a letter which he stared at.

"Hu Tao...I told you this but I really don't need your gifts. Your pranks are more than enough." (M/N) said.

"Want me to read it? Make it more sentimental?" Hu Tao offered cheekily.

"No, I'll keep it for now because you might tell me another joke that I won't understand." (M/N) said as he softly pinched her cheeks.

The departure after towards Wangshu Inn was needed since it took a whole day of sprinting to get there. He wondered how Xiao traversed the land so easily but that might be his elemental skill. He wished he could use his vision better since it was extremely annoying to carry around. It was one of the days that Xiao wasn't there. Calling him name would be wasting Xiao's time.

Borrowing the kitchen, he made the usual lunch boxes for the Adeptus which were left at the balcony for Xiao. Xiao would take it to them without much complaint. An empty sleep greeting (M/N) that night. He wish he could've left Xiao a note. He hoped that maybe Barbatos could carry his words in the wind to Xiao as he spoke.

Thing was Xiao was just out of his reach.

———

Days trickled past of travelling towards Dragonspire. Secretly, Xiao would make sure (M/N) was alright since he had noticed strange behaviours of the abyss mages around the clueless one. They seemed to avoid him. It helped with him taking on the karma around those areas. Totally, he wasn't making an excuse just to learn more about (M/N). He just needed to repay the favour since (M/N) made him Almond Tofu multiple times. Witnessing the silly interactions between him and his surroundings was a bit cute though.

It was rather humorous to see (M/N) scare himself with the slimes under the umbrellas.

Alas, he stopped following (M/N), after (M/N) was safely out of Liyue and heading into Dragonspire. He left back to his duties rather hastily since he didn't want to remember his memories there. (M/N) walked through the icy path, hoping that soon he could use way points. He might as well visit Albedo if he's here. Without much thought, he went through the cold tracks of bleak white scenery lurking with hilichurls. Usually, he would have to stay near heating stations so he wouldn't join the ice cubes of snow. This time though, he used seelies that we waiting around.
