"I want to take him badly. He doesn't need to be by those archons." The abyss prince said offhandedly.
———"Ah sir, you're here, the seven kites you asked have been made to order. Would you like to take them now?" The kind lady offered.
"Yes. Thank you." Zhongli offered.
"It's rare to see customers who want to buy this kite nowadays. In the early days, we used to get orders from people of all walks of life." The lady mentioned.
"Zucchini is pretty old, he's probably seen lots of walks of life."
I smiled at Zhongli when he jabbed my side slightly, before they had a discussion on the importance of the kite making tradition that had been passed down thousands of years. Granny Shen, the toy seller, loved to see children play with the kites since it brought joy before describing how she detailed each specific kite, some even needed accurate letters that could also be found at the Golden House.
Zhongli commented on the details of each insignia before stopping himself at the Cryo Archon. He never seemed to mention the Dendro insignia which I could ask him about. The lady thanked Zhongli for his pleasant compliments of a well learned man. I had already paid the amount needed before Zhongli's primary wallet stopped by, claiming to have been passing by. He lightly chastised his friend for always not bringing his wallet before apologising to me.
Clearly, Zhongli never thought of himself as a man that could be in poverty. I glanced down at Childe's empty gaze, he seemed a bit cunning. He was definitely planning something but I was too dumb to try and figure it out. Another bag of mora was plopped into my hands, Childe's half gloved hands touching mine as he did. It lingered there for a moment before his fingers twitched.
Childe backed off very quickly so we left to hire some more help. Childe just waved at us goodbye, that unnerving smile on his face. He was dangerous but I still wanted to be a companion to him. Along the way, we passed through the roads where there were plenty of dogs that immediately started following me. I tried to shoo them away but they followed me all the way to the harbour even after I gave them chicken.
They would bark and wag their tails at me. They were just so adorable. Having five cute dogs circle around me reminded me of Boreas where we would huddle together sometimes when I was cold. I still had to do the negotiating for five geo crystalflies before we moved over to find another person willing to do odd jobs for a whole day at Yujing Terrace. I could hear the usual pirate trio laughing and awing at the cute dogs that were rolling themselves on the floor for me.
It didn't hurt that I could understand what they were saying too. It was mostly begging me to pet their bellies which I did before we moved onto the third guy for wood. Again, I stepped into to do the bargaining while petting a dog since Zhongli was utterly helpless at bargaining.
I was very happy to have the dogs cheer me on for bargaining so well through their barking. We walked through the busy roads again before we met up with Childe who insisted I keep the extra money. He brought up a rather unexpected topic right after that while staring at the dogs and I.
"Solnishko, I have to ask but are you sure you're not part dog instead of wolf?" Childe laughed.
"I'm very sure, what makes you say that?" I huffed, slightly annoyed.
"Your tail has been wagging this entire time with the dogs and your wolf ears are extra perked up."
Instinctively, I rejected the notion before turning to grab my tail before realising that I just spun on the spot. I never realised they were out. Embarrassed, I finally grabbed my tail and held it still, even flattening my ears. That seemed to have broken Childe who started laughing since my actions made the dogs follow that, now they spun chasing their own tails. Even Zhongli was having a good laugh at my expense. This is why I shouldn't have them out.
