"What are you up to this time?"
———"It's great to see you, I thought you were in Inazuma? How is it over there?" I smiled.
"Terrible. More importantly, don't you think you have something to say to me?" Scaramouche folded his arms while trying to keep a kind smile. Too bad it didn't suit his figure.
"I already said hello... and I'm sure I said goodbye last time. What did I do?" I wondered, trying to think in my empty head.
"You didn't say goodbye. You probably fell off a cliff and forgot you did, again. Idiot." Scaramouche snapped.
"Really? I never had head injuries afterwards."
I knocked on my head. I was very sure I didn't fall, I've been staying away from heights even when I met Scaramouche. I thought I remembered that I was about to talk to him before there was a gap in my memory. Glancing at him, it seemed that he was telling the truth, his eyes seemed to be full of anger, crinkles were even forming. I stood up and approached him before picking him up and hugging him. He was so tiny and full of anger so I hopped a hug could cheer him up.
"Put me down, are you stupid?!" Scaramouche angrily pounded at me, even kicking me since his feet were off the ground.
"I'm sorry, I didn't know that I had done that... so I hope a hug could make it better but I was wrong, sorry." I whispered full of sincerity.
"...You better make it up to me or I will leash you." Scaramouche sneered.
Putting him down, I decided to sit back down so our height difference would be less. He hated that I was way taller than him so I could only hope to soothe the anger. I recalled that patting his head would lead him to zap me so I can't do that. How could I soothe his anger? Thinking hard since my brain was empty, I came to the realisation and decided to get on my knees and lower my head, making Scaramouche go quiet. At least now he was finally taller than me.
A hand was felt above my head before I felt Scaramouche messing with my head, demanding to bring out my other features. Closing my eyes, I let them come out, my tail and ears before looking up at him. He looked... weirdly content. At least he scratched the perfect spot behind my ears. He looked less angry too. His anger placated with him now throwing harmless insults out his mouth. This continued on for a while before he pulled on my cheek, asking when I'd make it up to him.
"I'm doing something right now but I will make it up to you after."
"I would say no but you would break out and do it anyways."
"Mhm!" I agreed.
"That's not a good thing! You're face is too smug, I hate it. Always so happy."
Scaramouche grabbed my cheeks in one hand before he squished my cheeks. He must still see me as a pet. He held out his hand when he demanded to see my vision before I passed it over. He always had an obsession with looking at it and this time was no different, he clicked his tongue when he saw the damage it was in. He knew something about it that I didn't. He sighed upon seeing the condition before handing it back to me.
"It's not looking good for you. What have you been up to?" Scaramouche asked in an indiscernible tone.
"Setting up a funeral, burning rocks, telling old men to make out-no make up behind a tree, fed some Hilichurls, the usual. Avoiding most cliffs?" I plainly said.
