I blinked a few times before opening my eyes fully.
Mike shifted under the covers next to me.
"What time is it?" He asked.
I looked over at the digital clock on the wall.
"11:32" I answered.
"Damn, we should probably get up." Mike said as he started to move.
I moved my head from my pillow to his chest, indicating that I did not want to leave the bed.
I then curled up my fingers in my right hand and laid it on the side of his stomach. I wanted to avoid today, and almost everyday.
"You okay?" He looked down.
"Yeah, but we don't have to get up. You know?" I looked up and he smiled with a small chuckle.
"You're right." He laid his head back.
He grabbed his phone and had started texting someone.
It was Jess.
I sighed.
"Sam, she's still my girlfriend." I heard Mike say.
"You act like I don't know that." I lifted myself off his chest and looked down at him.
He seemed surprised by my reaction and turned off his phone.
Sitting up, he lightly touched my arm with his index and middle finger.
"You're not actually mad at me are you?" He asked.
"No.. no it's just..." I started.
"Just what?" I looked in his eyes when he asked.
His eyes softened for a second. "Nothing." I answered.
"What is it?"
"Nothing. Text everyone. We can all have lunch." I fake smiled.
"Now that's more like it." He hit my shoulder and smiled.
I didn't want to go anywhere.
3:30pm
"What will I wear?" I asked Mike.
"I can see if my mom has any old clothes that will fit you." He said.
I nodded and he walked out of the bedroom.
I walked around looking at the picture frames on his desk and bookshelf. He had a open notebook on his desk and I took a quick look. A couple sentences left by his parents about them traveling.
"Snooping?" He asked in the doorway.
"Sorry, just curious. You read?" I asked.
"Just, a little." He smiled. "You?" He asked. I turned to the books.
"Yeah. It helps me, with everything you know?" I looked from the books to him.
He nodded.
"Did you choose something for me?" I walked over.
"How is this?" He held up a blue tanktop, blue jeans, and a black zip up jacket.
"Sure. Thank you." I said.
"And these are mine but i'm sure they'll look good on you. I wore them a long time ago but they still may be a little big." He handed me some converse.
"I really appreciate all this." I said after grabbing the clothes and shoes.
"No problem." He tucked his hands away in his pockets and stared at me for a second.
