"What would you like to buy first?" Mike questioned. We were standing in the middle of the mall.

"You know, as a rich kid, I bet you've never stolen huh?" I asked with a smirk.

"Uh, no. Should I know how?" He asked.

"It might be useful one day. It's really easy, come on." I grabbed his hand.

"Sam, we have money. You don't need to steal." He pulled my hand back to where he was.

"It's not about what you do, it's about how it makes you feel, rich or broke." I smiled wider and back away running into our first store.

"And how will this make me feel?" Mike sighed, clearly annoyed.

"I know you're just scared." I laughed.

"Am not!" He said offended.

"Mhm." I shook my head.

"Fine, let's do it." He gave in.

"Sure but don't get addicted." I tugged his hand.

He scoffed.

After buying an item, I slipped a few things in my bag.

Mike held onto something in his pocket and looked at me nervously as we walked out.

He looked down in my bag.

"Damn you're sneaky." He laughed.

"What did you get?" I asked.

When he pulled out a multi-colored pen, I laughed and smiled up at him.

"I think I get it, it kind of feels like relief I didn't get caught." He snickered.

"Mike you used to be such a trouble maker, what happened?" I asked.

"I still am. I just don't feel like going to jail for shop lifting after surviving cannibal creatures." He chuckled.

"That's a good point." I nodded as we headed to the ice cream shop.

"I didn't know Sammi was such a badass." He bit his lip in a joking way. I laughed at him.

"Don't call me that, and i'm not. I just like to have free things." I shrugged my shoulders while moving my spoon in my ice cream.

"Who would've known getting to know you is so entertaining."

"Yeah." I said quietly with a smile. "Who would've known?"

We went back home.

Mike and I sat on his patio and talked to each other.

"We're so lucky to be here today, you know?" Mike looked over.

"Yeah." He looked down almost sadly.

"You okay?" I asked.

"I wish I could've done more. Josh- he could've made it out if I-"

"Mike don't blame yourself. Maybe if I had talked to him earlier and distracted him, he wouldn't have done all those things."

"Distracted him?" Mike questioned.

"I thought Josh and I had a connection. I thought we bonded but no. We uh.. didn't so."

"Did you like Josh?" Mike asked.

"What! No!" I lied.

"Sammmm." Mike smiled.

"Fine, just a little crush I guess. But after everything he pulled Mike I-"

"You were the only person I trusted on that mountain." I said truthfully and sternly.

"Damn that means a lot." He chuckled.

I looked up with a small smirk.

The sky rumbled causing us to both look outwards.

"It's probably going to storm."

"Yeah." I agreed.

Mike's phone began ringing.

"Hello?"

"This weekend?"

"Uh well I kind of have someone staying with me."

"Okay okay fine."

"What do you mean dad's not going to be there?"

"Okay whatever. Yeah i've got it." He hung up.

"Who was that?" I asked.

"My mother, her sister is having a wedding and my dad won't be there." He sighed tapping the railing with his finger.

"What else is the matter?" I looked at him, placing my hand on his wrist.

He looked down at my hand. "She's going back to work right after."

"Oh, Mike i'm sorry." He turned to face me and I pulled him in for a hug.

"Thanks. So since you're living here you can do me a tiny favor." He pulled away with a smirk.

I tilted my head. "Mike?"

"Be my date to the wedding." He cheered.

"I don't have a dress for a wedding." I laughed.

"I'll get you one, any one you want just be my date."

I paused thinking about it.

"Do I need to get on one knee?" He started.

"No! No! I'll be your date." I laughed hitting his chest.

"Good, it's this weekend so we can go looking for the dress tomorrow. We've got to catch the flight  on Friday." He informed me.

I nodded my head. "Don't you think it's kind of disrespectful? I mean Jessica was your girlfriend the other day and now you're taking me as your date to a wedding." I played with my fingers.

"Not at all, I need a date and I know you the best right now." He placed his hand on my lower back and nodded before walking back inside the house.

I sighed and followed, walking inside.

"Here," He started typing on his laptop.

"search on this website for dresses. There's a store in town." He scooted the computer over to me.

"Oh, okay." I responded. "Where are you going?"

"I am going to workout." He said.

"You're leaving?" I questioned as he started to walk up the stairs.

"No silly there's a workout room in my house you know?"

"What? Can I see?!" I said excitedly.

"Sammm, look for a dress."

"Fine." I don't even wear dresses. I rolled my eyes at the thought of me in a dress.
