My eyes slowly opened. I saw a grey car ceiling, then beneath Mike's chin.

"Hey, Sam." I looked in his eyes.

"You're gonna be okay."

I started to scoot upwards slowly. "You're not supposed to move." Mike said, he then reached for the tube and pulled the needle out of my arm. "Emily." He said causing her to turn around. His hand pointed to the tube.

"Mike! You're supposed to twist the handle first! Sorry Collin, there might be some blood in the backseat." She started.

When I was finally sitting on Mike's lap, I tilted my head to kiss him. He hesitated for a moment but then kissed me.

"You okay?" He said once he pulled away.

I pulled him in closer and whispered in his ear. "I love you too."

I pulled away slightly, just to see the small smile on his face out of the corner of my eye. I then looked at him fully and dropped my head, as I felt like I was going to pass out.

Mike placed his head on my chest. "Your heart beat is faint again." He said causing Officer Anchor to look back.

"I'm cold." I said shivering.

"I'll turn on the heat." Said Officer Anchor.

"Collin, how far is the hospital." Emily said. Mike and I both looked over in confusion.

"You mean Officer Anchor." The officer corrected.

"No, I mean Collin, how far is the hospital from here." Emily stood her ground as always.

"Uh, ten more minutes." He sighed.

"Thank you." She smiled out of satisfaction.

"Rub your hands together." Mike told me.

I did as he said and we spent the remainder of our time in the car in silence. Somewhere along that time, I passed out. Again.

When my eyes opened, I looked around quickly. I was in a hospital bed. I yawned loudly. "Mike? Emily." I called out.

Mike turned over to the door frame and walked in. "Hey, don't worry, as soon as you're done here we will go home."

I nodded and sat back in the bed.

"Sam, I wish you never followed me out here." Mike stated.

"Maybe you shouldn't have left." I responded sternly.

"Sam, I had to, I was protecting you." He defended himself.

"That's not protecting, you hurt me when you left."

"I'm sorry. I didn't want to hurt you at all Sam." He was standing over me, his hand touching mine.

He sat down in the chair beside me with his head in his hands.

"Hey," I said. He didn't move. "Hey, it's okay. I'm okay." I patted his back.

Mike shook his head. "No, you're right. It's not okay."

I pulled his head up.

"Mike."

He raised his head slightly. "Don't blame yourself."

"When can I get out of here?" I asked.

"We'll have to ask the doctors."

"Hopefully soon, i'm missing your bed."

Mike snickered. "I know you do." He rubbed my thigh softly.

I then slightly bit the corner of my lip.

Mike raised his eyebrow a little. "Oh, you mean-"

I laughed.

"Does almost dying turn you on or something?" His smile grew and his cheeks were slightly pink, it might've just been the cold hospital though.

"You saying you love me does." We stayed smiling at each other until Emily and Officer Anchor walked in.

"Enough flirting lovers. As soon as you can leave, we are going." Emily said emphasizing the "ing".

"We got it Em. Are you done harassing Officer Anchor now?" I laughed.

"Excuse me, it is far from harassment. Let me just," Emily grabbed the officer's phone out of his pocket.

"do this real quick." She typed into the phone.

"Tinder!" She said shocked, looking up at him.

"We've gotta get rid of this once we start dating, K?"

Officer Anchor fake smiled. "Okay Emily."

"Since we may be seeing more of you, you said your names Collin?" I asked.

"Emily said my name is Collin, but yes." He answered.

"There I made myself a contact in your phone and you one in mine." Emily nodded and looked over at Mike and I.

"We'll be by the snack machines." She grabbed Collins arm and tugged her way out the room.

"Wait Emily can you get me something!" I yelled.

"What? I can't hear you." She walked away.

"Cold hearted bitch is back." I scoffed.

"I'll get you something babe. What do you want?" Mike stood up, his hand still in mine.

I blushed at his words.

"Two mini bags of cookies."

"Coming up." He kissed my hand and walked off.

A phone started ringing. It sounded like my ringtone. I looked around and saw my bag on the corner of a table.

I reached over and grabbed my bag, pulling my phone out. The number looked familiar.

"Hello?"

"Sam.. it's me, Dad."

"How'd you get my new number?" I asked.

"Your friend Mike. I was just checking up on you. He said you got hurt." He explained.

"Yeah, well i'm fine now so. I'll call you later."

"Wait, Sam-" I hung up the phone. I won't be calling back.

Mike walked into the room with a smile on his face, holding up two bags of cookies.

"You called my dad?" I asked.

"Shit. I just keep screwing up." Mike looked down and tossed the cookies on the bed.

"Emily called him when we first got here. He's your emergency contact. I gave him your number but I told him not to call, that you wouldn't be up for it."

I nodded my head.

"I understand."

"I'm sorry, again Sam."

"It's not a big deal." I opened a bag of cookies and took one out.

"Here."

Mike and I talked in the hospital bed until I fell asleep.

The next morning, a doctor came in to give me another dose of my pain medicine.

"If you're feeling discomfort, mostly pain, you can take these twice a day."

I nodded my head.

"Some nurses are coming in to check your vitals before you leave. I suggest you get lots of bed rest. Don't move around too much, your stitches are still healing." The doctor gave me a small smile.

"If there is anything you may need, you can ask one of my nurses."

After I was done at the hospital, Collin drove Mike and I home, then Emily.
