I stood at the front door of Mike's house in some loose fitted jeans and a zip up jacket. I threw my backpack over my shoulders. It had been freezing outside recently.

When Emily pulled up, I got in quickly.

"Hurry, we can't waste any time." I said.

"What are you doing at Mike's house?" She asked.

"It's a long story."

"Well we've got a forty minute drive." Emily fake smiled.

"Emily, it's very personal. Can we please just get there." I sighed.

Emily rolled her eyes and laid her foot on the gas.

40 minutes later.

Emily and I got out of the car and saw Mike's. We then ran 10 minutes to the cable car station, I clicked the green button to bring it back.

I looked to Emily, hands on my knees panting.

She was breathing heavily too. "Are you scared to be back up here." She asked.

"Of course. You?" I straightened my back.

"Yeah but, you'll probably need my help." She looked at her nails smirking.

I chuckled and she did too.

"Is there something going on between you and Mike?" She asked.

"Yeah. I won't lie to you. Even if there wasn't though, I would still be out here to help him." I admitted.

Emily nodded her head, clearly a little surprised by it. "At least he's not with Jessica anymore." She sighed, "I hate that bitch."

"What happened? You guys were best friends." I stated.

"Yeah but then she snuck in on my man as soon as we broke up. She is not a good friend." She explained.

"Ah, I get it. Well maybe now you two can be friends?"

"First she got with my ex and now she's with my other ex. She's obsessed." Emily shook her head.

"I can see the cable car, it's almost here." She informed me.

"Maybe you should just talk to Jess and ask her
what was going through her mind when she decided to date both your ex's."

"I'm sure she has some sort of reasoning." I gave her a small smile and she nodded her head. "You may be right."

"What's up with you and Mike? Stole both of our ex's hm?" She laughed.

"I don't know," I smiled to myself thinking of him. "I just thought he was only a douchey jock but he's so much more. I've really liked him since that night."

"Since that night, here?" Emily pointed down.

"Yeah."

The cable car was now here. "Let's go." She said.

"You seem a lot nicer to me being with one of your ex's than Jess." I said, sitting down.

"Well you aren't a bitch for no reason. It's not easy to get mad at you. Plus you weren't my best friend." She said sadly.

After 10 minutes we got out the cable car on the other side.

"How will we know where to go?" Emily looked at me, the wind blowing her hair and snow in her face.

"Over here." I said, there were sticks in the ground with lights on them.

"This must be the way." We followed the lights.
