Mike shook me awake the next morning.
"We have to get ready Sam, can't be late for the wedding."
I smiled to the thought of me in that dress I got all night. I hope Mike will like it as much as I do.
After taking a shower and brushing my teeth, I finally did what I had been waiting for since I got this dress. To put it on.
I did a little makeup. A very elegant light blue eyeshadow, like my dress, used as liner around my eye into a wing. Some mascara, blush, and a natural pink lip.
When I walked out the bathroom, Mike was facing the other direction.
"What do you think?" I asked nervously.
Mike turned around. His mouth dropped as he tried to get words out. "Oh god is it too much?" I covered my face.
"No, what no? Sorry I was just shocked. You uh, you look so beautiful."
"Thank you." I said shyly. "Dresses aren't really my thing, so."
"Bummer, cause you look good." He walked closer to me, his hands gently touching my waist.
"You'll be the prettiest there." He whispered.
"Not prettier than the bride I hope." I reached up to adjust his tie a little.
"Everyone else will be looking at the bride. I might just stare at you the whole time." He said causing me to chuckle.
"That's your aunt Mike, on her big day. You better be staring at her because I really don't want to seem like I tried to overdress."
"Don't worry, she'll love you. Your beautiful dress will make a good impression." He leaned in and kissed my forehead. When he pulled away, I looked up into his eyes.
"Let's get ready to go."
I nodded quickly and grabbed a few things before heading out.
Mike and I stepped out of the limo that was scheduled to pick us up. We were here. The wedding was held right in front of a beautiful castle.
"Oh my god. This is amazing." I remarked.
"See, with these types of fancy weddings, you can never overdress. People here are going to be wearing huge gowns and you'll still look better." He held out his hand and smirked. I placed my hand in his and we walked on the pathway.
When Mike saw his aunt he called for her.
She approached me with a smile. "I'm Aria, you are?" She grabbed my hand for a shake.
"Samantha, but I go by Sam. It's very nice to meet you." I shook her hand.
"Now if you'll excuse me, I need to go get dressed. We are running behind schedule." She smiled before running off with some hair dressers.
"You know Sam, I never thought I would take you as my date to anything." He started.
"I'm sure these types of things would do better for Jess, or Em but.."
"Even if Jess and I weren't broken up, I now know I would much rather take you with me as my date anywhere."
"That's sweet, thank you Mike." I said.
"Let's have a look at the snack table." He said with excitement.
"Okay." I chuckled.
Half and hour later, more people started to show and the service was about to start.
When Aria walked down the isle, she looked amazing . I could only hope that one day, I could look just as great.
"She looks beautiful." I stated.
"She does." Mike agreed.
After the service, people were eating and dancing.
Mike spun me around and I chuckled lightly.
"Mike!" I heard from a far, causing me to turn.
"Oooo, who's the beautiful lady?" The blonde guy walked closer.
"My date." Mike said.
"Girlfriend? or is she up for grabs?" The guy added.
"Why don't you ask me yourself. I'm right here." I looked up at him.
"Hm, feisty." He smirked.
"No, she's just smart. Steering clear of guys like you, let's go Sam." Mike turned around and I gave the tall blonde the finger, causing him to scoff.
"See you Mike." He yelled.
"Who was that?" I asked Mike.
"That was my cousin." He sighed.
"Bold isn't he?" I raised my eyebrows. Mike shook his head.
"Hey, don't worry about him. I'm fine." I smiled genuinely.
"I just don't want you to feel how you felt last night."
"I don't. I'm having fun okay?"
Mike grabbed my hand and pulled me out to the dance floor. "Mike.."
"Show me some of your dance moves."
"Mike you know I don't do dance anymore." I held onto his hands.
"Oh come on." He insisted.
He held my hand over my head and spun me. I turned 3 times before he dipped me. Set Fire To The Rain by Adele played over the speakers.
Mike smiled while he dipped me. His eyes went to my lips before darting back to my eyes.
He lifted me up and I moved my hands up his chest.
"What was that for?" He chuckled.
I shrugged my shoulders with a shy smile.
Mike smirked. "Ill steal us some dessert before we leave."
I laughed, "Good, I like dessert."
"You know, ever since that night at the cabin, i've felt closest with you. Not Jess, not Em, you." Mike sounded serious now.
"I've felt the same with you. It kind of feels like you're all I have..." I tapped my finger on his shoulder.
"and," He got closer to my ear and whispered.
"I really want to kiss you right now."
His words shocked me, "Are you drunk Mike?" I asked.
"Kiss me and you'll find out."
"Mike,"
"No i'm not drunk, surprisingly." He answered.
He then placed his hands on my forearms. "Let's just get some dessert and get back to the hotel."
I nodded and we did so.
