"You okay?" Mike asked.

"Yep." I said, gripping my arm around his shoulders a little tighter.

It took us around 5 minutes to get up the set of stairs to the doorstep.

"Phew." Mike started, "That was a workout."

"Now, the stairs to your bedroom." I then opened the front door.

"It's your bedroom now." Mike chuckled and picked me up gently, bridal style.

"Mike! Be careful with me." I laughed with him.

"I've got you."

When we got to the top of the stairs, I told Mike I needed to shower. He had already showered early that morning at the hospital.

"You sure you can stand in there on your own?" He continued walking to the bedroom.

"Do you want to get in with me?" I joked.

"You mean that?"

"Mike-" I hit his shoulder.

"I'll be fine." I smiled.

"Okay, try to avoid your stitches." He let me down on my feet in the bathroom.

"Call me if you need anything."

I nodded my head and closed the door.

I looked at my stitches in the mirror. The pain wasn't bad but they looked painful. After last night I felt so dirty, I was glad to finally be able to shower.

The warm water traveled down my body and everything felt like it was okay again. I winced over some cuts and bruises as I washed my body.

When I was finished showering, I stepped out of the bathroom with a towel wrapped around me.

"Mike?"

Mike was soundly asleep. He was up watching me all night at the hospital. He must've been tired. I grabbed my bag of clothes and got dressed. When I was fully clothed, I laid next to Mike.

"Sam?" His eyes opened.

"Shit, sorry I fell asleep." He apologized.

"It's okay, go back to sleep." I reassured him.

He came in closer and closed his eyes. "Does your bandage need to be changed?"

"It's fine." I answered.

"Does it hurt?" He asked again.

"A little.. nothing I can't handle." I played with his hair.

"Do you want me to get the pain medicine?" He sat up.

"I'm okay Mike." I pushed his chest back down.

"Hey, let me go get it incase it gets worse later on." He said.

I looked at him as he stood up.

"I'll be back." He kissed my cheek and walked away.

It had been around 10 minutes and Mike still hadn't came upstairs. "Mike?" I yelled.

"Hold on." He yelled back.

When Mike came upstairs, he had a tray in his hands which had a drink, bowl, grill cheese and a medicine bottle on it.

"What's this?" I blushed.

"Tomato soup and grilled cheese." He sat it down on the bedside table.

"I didn't know you could be so sweet." I placed my hands in my lap.

"I'm not. But since you're my girlfriend and all." He rolled his eyes before smiling.

"Do you want to share it with me?" I stood up off the bed.

"You shouldn't be standing so much." He said, ignoring my question. I grabbed the grill cheese and ripped it in half.

"I made that-" I shoved it in his mouth.

Mike began to eat the grill cheese as he shook his head.

He jumped to the other side of the bed and patted next to him.

"Bring the food."

We watched tv while we ate.

A while after, the movie we were watching ended and I turned off the tv. I sighed and turned to Mike.

Mike smiled, "The other night, I thought I lost you."

His smile quickly faded. "I thought you were dead, then the medic said your heart was still beating." He struggled to get out his sentence.

"I thought you died in my arms, because of me." He blinked slowly and I watched a tear leave his eye.

"Mike, don't blame yourself." I placed my hand on the back of his neck. "I'm still here, and I love you."

He looked up at me differently, a look of desire. I recognized it because I felt it too.

Mike's hands wrapped around my waist and he kissed me deeply. My eyes were closed for a moment afterward until I kissed his lips back. We started to make out. I moved my hands up his chest, feeling his abs through his shirt.

When I started to lift his shirt, he pulled it back down. "Sam, your stitches." He stated. I rolled my eyes.

He chuckled. "Can I ask you something?"

I gave him a small nod and sank back in the bed.

"Have you.. you know, before?" He said referring to sex.

I raised my eyebrows slightly. "No.."

"Good, I want your first to be special." He traced his hand up my leg.

"It could still be special."

"Sam, you have fresh stitches. I can wait."

"That's sweet but still. I know what I can handle." I looked up at him.

"Trust me, I know you do." I smiled to myself, it made me happy that Mike knew me well.

I moved on top of him and wrapped my arms around his neck. "I have you now, that's enough for me." He finished.
