I wasn't sure where the gym room was and it was still pouring outside. Lighting struck again causing me to flinch. Maybe we should call off diner tonight with everyone? I questioned myself.

None of the dresses online were to my liking so I closed the laptop and made my way upstairs.

"Mike?" I wandered the halls.

I went around the corner of the hallway to see the gym room. Mike was running fast on a treadmill. Sweat was dripping off his body and he had his shirt off.

"Mike, hi." I breathed in heavily.

"Hold on Sam." He looked down at the time on the treadmill. "3..2..1.." He stopped the treadmill and jumped off.

"How long were you running for?" I asked.

"Forty five minutes. Did you find a dress?"

I took another breath in at how attractive he was. "Um, no. I didn't but maybe we can go in tomorrow and see if I like anything on me." I suggested.

He eyed my body up and down while wiping off his water bottle. "Yeah sure."

"Now you know where the workout room is." He said.

"Well i'm sure you can see it through the windows from outside, but i've never paid attention."

"Yeah, you can." He wiped his head of sweat.

I stared him down hard as he wasn't looking.

"Sam, why are you staring." He looked up.

"I just don't know where to put my eyes that's all." I laughed nervously.

"Oh okay Sam." He nodded sarcastically.

"I need to shower and so do you, we've got places to be." He stood up and threw me his towel.

"Ew."

Mike and I both took showers and I changed into jeans and a jacket of mine.

"Oh you have converse of your own I see." He smiled at my white converse that were very dirty.

"Yeah."

"So what shoes do you like wearing on a daily basis?" He asked.

"Tennis shoes and sometimes boots, but that's mostly for the snow. Why?"

"No heels? I was rightww ez. You ready to go?"

"Yeah." I put my phone in my back pocket and walked behind Mike.

"You sure you're feeling it?" Mike asked before we got out of the car at Rogers Burgers.

"Yeah." I smiled. Last time we were here, I ended up punching a mirror once I got home. I trust that things will go better since it's only Ashley and Chris.

Mike and I walked in to see Ashley, Chris, and Emily.

"Emily, you've changed your mind?" Mike asked.

"Yes, i'm still mad but not mad enough I guess. I should be grateful to be alive so."

Mike nodded and gestured for me to sit down.

"Hey Em." I sat down next to her.

"Hey Sam."

"Let's order." Chris said wrapping his arm around Ashley's shoulders.

As we ate, we made small conversation.

"So Chris, Ashley, you guys finally got together huh?" Mike took a bite of his burger.

"Uh yeah. Josh was right, traumatic experiences do bring people together." He looked down.

"I know you miss him. We all do." I reached over to grab Chris's hand.

"We're here if you need us." I said assuringly, I felt Mike's eyes on me.

I let go of his hand and smiled.

"So where is Jess and Matt?" Emily asked while eating her fries.

"We got in an argument last time we tried to eat with everyone." Mike sighed.

"Hm why?" She asked again.

"Jess was praising Matt for saving her life after she would've been dead without me." Mike said getting slightly heated.

"Damn, are you guys still together?" Emily said leaning in. God she just can't get over Mike.

"No, are you and Matt because I wouldn't be." He scoffed.

"If he's with Jess then i'll break up with him. More time for me and Mike." She smirked eating another fry.

I wanted to say something so bad, but Mike isn't mine and I shouldn't be jealous.

"Yeah no thanks Emily." He looked away seriously.

He then grabbed a fry off my plate and smirked at me.

I smiled up at him and he ate the fry.

"How have you guys been?" Ashley sipped her drink.

"I've been okay considering everything that has happened." Emily crossed her arms.

"I've been fine too." I bit into my sandwich.

"Yeah, my parents weren't home when I got there so." Mike sighed.

"Really? They didn't come home after everything that happened to us?" Chris questioned.

"I didn't tell them and I don't plan on doing so. They wouldn't have the time for me anyways." Mike shook his head to himself.

After a while of catching up and finishing our food, Mike and I left.

"I'm surprised there was no drama with Emily." Mike said when we got inside.

"Maybe everything that happened finally humbled her." I chuckled.

Mike laughed with me, "Yeah."

"And Mike, don't worry about your parents. I bet it kills them to not be around you."

"Thanks Sam I really appreciate it."

I took a shower and eyed myself in the mirror, my cuts had gotten a lot better. They were nothing too deep to heal in a day or so. I never thought about how I would look at the wedding but I could cover anything up with make up.

When I walked in Mike's room, he was already asleep.

I crawled in the bed and started to drift off as soon as my head hit the pillow. I felt Mike's arms wrap around my waist before I fell into a deep sleep.
