When Mike and I got back to the hotel, I stood outside on the balcony for a while, watching the clouds in the sky as they got darker.

I heard Mike approaching me from behind after he put the leftover dessert in the fridge.

"I think it's going to rain." I said. When I turned to my right, Mike pulled me in for a kiss. I kissed him back hard before letting go quickly.

"You can't do that."

"Do what?" He asked.

"You're just horny or something, you don't actually like me okay?" I turned to walk away and Mike grabbed my arm, pulling me back in.

"I do like you Sam."

I shook my head as I faced his chest.

"I'm not asking for anything other than a chance." His hand sneaked around my waist, behind my back.

"You," I paused for a moment. "You like me?" I raised my head a little.

Mike nodded his head and smiled. "Don't act so surprised. I think i've liked you for a while now, I just was in denial." He explained.

"What, in denial that you could ever like someone like me?" I questioned with a sigh.

"No. In denial that I like someone I argued with numerous of times in the last 3 years we've been friends."

"But now, I wake up to the thought of you and fall asleep to the thought of you." He finished.

"You could be a writer." I chuckled. Mike shook his head with a smile.

"Is that a yes?" He asked.

"Yes to what?"

"To giving me a chance."

I grabbed his shirt collar and pulled him in for a kiss. He kissed me back and then pulled away. "Damn Sam, talk about horny." He smirked looking me up and down.

"I'm hungry, we should order food before it rains." I suggested.

"Okay, i'll get on that." His hand slipped from my waist as he walked away. What just happened.

When the food arrived, we sat on the balcony and ate.

When I finished eating my sub, I looked over, catching Mike staring at me.

"What is it? Is there food in my teeth?" I asked.

"No, no, you're just really pretty."

I blushed a little. Something I rarely do.

"You're really hot but I don't stare at you all day."

"Okay okay, let's get down before you fall." He walked over and picked me up, placing me on the ground.

"Mike look." I said pointing in the distance. There was a huge storm coming.

"We've got to get home, we don't want to be here when that storm hits." I looked at Mike, but he just stood there, nothing to say.

"Mike?" I placed my hand over his on the balcony.

"Sorry, I was thinking. I'll have my mom and dad send a private plane from wherever is closest to us." He started.

"Pack your stuff, we don't have much time before the storm hits us."

He walked back into the hotel with a straight face and began packing his stuff.

First, I changed out of my dress into some shorts and a tanktop. Then I started packing up my suitcase.

After a while, the storm was getting closer, first it was hovering over the ocean, now you could see it in the clouds, getting close to shore.

"My mom said the plane will be here in 15 minutes. Let's get a move on to it's landing spot." Mike said.

I nodded quickly and followed Mike right out the door.

We listened to Mike's GPS as the winds picked up.

We passed children and adults. "Get inside, there's a storm coming!" I yelled. They quickly fled after.

"We're almost there Sam." Lightning struck at the beach as Mike and I were running to the plane.

"You see it?" Mike pointed.

"I see it." I chuckled.

"We have to hurry, the plane won't be able to get out of here when the storm gets on land." Mike informed me.

I ran behind him swiftly, all I could think about was that night at the cabin. Another close death experience.

I scraped my arm against the concrete wall as we ran up the stairs to the tarmac.

"Shit." I said under my breath.

"What? You okay?" Mike looked back, while still running.

"Yeah, keep going."

We finally go to the plane, it was ready to take off and the storm was already on land.

We threw our stuff in the plane and hopped in.

"Go go go, we don't have much time Jonah." Mike said before closing the door that separated the pilot and passengers.

"You know him?"

"Yeah he's flown us before." He answered, sitting down before us.

The plane was now moving down the runway and then it lifted off into the sky.

Mike and I let out deep breaths as relief washed over our bodies. "Thank god." I stated before Mike grabbed the sides of my face and kissed me.

"I'm so glad we're okay." He said. "I was scared we would've died or got- gotten hurt like at the lodge." He stuttered.

"Hey, it's okay. We're okay." I lifted his face to look at me.

I had never seen Mike this vulnerable before.

"Let's lay down, okay? It's kind of cold in here." I stood up.

"Blankets are in there." Mike pointed to a door on the wall that looked like it was for luggage.

When I opened it, I saw a bunch of blankets folded up. I grabbed three and closed the door. I laid the blankets over Mike, then he held them up. "Get in here." He smiled.

I sneaked under the covers and cuddled up next to his warm body.

Mike then reached over at my arm.

"Sam what happened here?"

"Oh, I scraped my arm." I answered.

"Let's get it cleaned up." He went to stand up but I stopped him.

"I'm fine, I just want to lay down." I slowly pulled him back down.

"Okay." He pulled me in closer and moved his hand up and down my back.

In his warm embrace, I fell asleep easily.
