"Hey", the boy said. "I see you're up".

Sophie turned towards him. The boy looked gorgeous- his blond hair was perfectly styled and he had ice blue eyes that studied her curiously. He lay in a bed right next to the one she was in.

"Hello", Sophie greeted, sitting up "Who are you?"

"Keefe, I think".

"You think?"

"Well, it seems I have lost my memories", Keefe explained in a bored voice. "Some people who were here before said I was Keefe".

"How did you loose your memories?" Sophie inquired.

He shrugged. "I don't remember. Oh and, they were also talking about to other people who lost their memories, and I think you may be one of them".

"I am?" Sophie asked, eyes wide. She tried to come up with anything she could remember but to no avail. "I really don't remember anything!"

Keefe nodded.

"Do you think that's bad?"

He shrugged again.

"I don't even remember what my name is!"

Keefe scratched his head. "Well, since you're a girl... I mean, obviously your a girl, I didn't think you were a boy but-"

"Keefe".

"Right. I think you name was- Octavia?"

"Octavia?" She asked, horrified. She didn't really like her name.

"That's what they said. It doesn't really suit a cute girl like you", Keefe winked at her.

'Octavia' giggled and wondered what was wrong with her heart all of a sudden.

"Where am I?" Came a thin voice. For the first time, Octavia saw that there was a boy on the bed opposite to hers. He had blond hair and blue eyes too, but he was pale and scrawny. On his stomach, just below his purple T-shirt was a white bandage covering most of his torso. It was half-covered in blood and looked like it could use a changing.

"Have blonds been targeted specifically?" Keefe wondered sarcastically.

"Is he the other guy?" Sophie asked him.

"What do you mean?" The boy asked.

"Do you remember anything?" Keefe asked him.

The pale boy shook his head.

"I have been informed that the three of us have lost our memory somehow", Keefe told him. "If I'm not wrong, your name is... Sophus I think".

"Oh-kay?" The boy, apparently not liking his name either.

Then was a long stretch of silence. Sophus tried to get up but he winced.

"Careful", Keefe said. "Your wound looks pretty bad".

"I'm alright", Sophus said, clearly not alright.

"How are feeling?" A girl asked, suddenly entering the room. She had dark, chocolaty hair. Her question was directed at Sophus, a little hesitantly though.

"I told Sophus and Octavia about them loosing their memories", Keefe informed the girl.

She stared at him, her mouth slightly open.

Keefe frowned. "Is that a problem?"

The girl let out a short, small laugh. "Sophus and Octavia?"

"Aren't those their names?"

She shook her head, laughing again. She pointing at Octavia. "You're Sophie", she turned her hand to Sophus. "And you are Octavian".

Oh.

That sounded much better.

"Octavian", The girl said. "You are required somewhere. Don't worry, you will be taken in a wheelchair because of your injury".

Octavian shrugged.

Another boy came in, holding a wheelchair. He had curly blond hair and tanned skin and wore a doctor's coat.

"Since you don't know me", the girl said. "I'm Hazel. And this is your healer, Kai".

Kai took the wheelchair closer to Octavian's bed. There was a fair amount of wincing and complaining, but he managed to get the boy in. Sophie noticed, that both Hazel and Kai were a little weird every time they addressed the pale boy.

Kai turned to Sophie and Keefe. "The two of you should probably stay in bed for today and you should be healed by tomorrow".

"Where are you taking Ovtavian?" Keefe asked.

"There's a lot for you to catch up on", Hazel told them. "We will explain everything eventually".

With that, the both of them left the room.

The was a long stretch of silence which Keefe broke at some point. "It's annoying".

"What is?" Sophie asked.

"We've lost our memories. We don't know our pasts. We don't know who to trust and who not to. We don't know anything and our lives depend upon some strangers who we may or may not have known. For all we know, the may be faking the whole thing and may be our enemies".

"Well", Sophie said. "We don't have a choice, do we? Besides, who knows? You may be a thief or something".

Keefe lowered himself onto his bed and turned his face toward Sophie with a smirk. "I know you are. You stole something from me".

Sophie frowned. "I did?"

"Yeah", Keefe said. He placed a hand on his chest. "My heart".

Sophie felt her face heat up. "Very funny".

"I'm serious".

"I thought you didn't remember anything from your past life".

"I don't need memories to remember some things".

"Oh. Oh, uh", Sophie heard deep breathing. Keefe had fallen asleep.

He must have been tired.

Sophie closed her eyes and tried to sleep too. But her face felt too hot and her heart was beating too loud. She knew Keefe. She didn't remember how, but she was sure she was close to Keefe before.

She fell asleep at some point, but just before she drifted away, she heard the words, "I can never truly forget you, Foster".
