"Are you okay?" As soon as Percy spoke the words, he knew they were stupid. "Nevermind. Forget I asked".

"I have a brother", Annabeth mumbled. "My dad was a half-elf. I'm a half-elf".

Percy couldn't bear how lost and scared she looked. He turned towards the Councillors. "What... Are you going to do to her?" He slipped his hand in his pocket, ready to uncap Riptide if they were going to harm Annabeth in any way; regardless of what that would result in.

"Like we said", Councillor Alina said, "Mr Forkle will grant her the ability of a Charger".

Mr Forkle nodded, but there was something weird about his expression.

Percy heard a ringtone come from Annabeth's pocket. She pulled out her emergency phone, announced that it was Magnus and went to a different room to talk to him in silence. Percy was left to stare at the Councillors. Councillors Oralie and Bronte looked anxious- Oralie was biting her lip and Bronte was looking everywhere but at Percy. So did Mr Forkle, he tapped his feet impatiently. The three of them looked nervous... Guilty. The rest of them were just staring into oblivion, having nothing else to do. Councillor Alina though, looked like she was trying hard not to smile. That made Percy feel offended for some reason.

Annabeth was back in a few minutes, and she looked even worse and walked up to Percy and whispered in his ear, "Jason, Piper, Will and Fitz are lost".

Percy nearly jumped. "What?!" he hissed.

"Don't worry. I think I know where they are", she then turned to the Councillors and spoke out loud, "Can it wait? I need to... Check on something".

Councillor Emery shook his head. "This is extremely important".

Annabeth sighed, but agreed.

"We will leave you with Mr Forkle now. It's best if you do it here in the Hospital Wing, incase the manifesting makes you feel fatigued. With that, they took out their crystals and leaped away.

"Are you ready, Miss Chase?" Mr Forkle asked in a weary voice.

Annabeth reluctantly nodded. Percy was worried, really worried. What if something went wrong? What if this would harm Annabeth? His worry must have shown in his face, because Annabeth said, "Don't worry. I'll be okay". Percy looked at his shoes.

Mr Forkle stretched out his arms at Annabeth's temple and she jumped back. "Sorry", she said. "Instincts".

He pressed her temples and Annabeth closed her eyes. Mr Forkle looked like he was concentrating hard, and Annabeth was breathing deeply.

He let go and said, "There. You may take about a week to manifest but-"

Annabeth wasn't listening. Her eyes were empty, her body swooning.

"Annabeth!" Percy called, catching her waist just before she feel. Instantly, he felt current pass through him, very powerful, and his vision went dark.
