Chapter 35 - Dex

It was just a normal day. 

​​​​​​Wait. No, no it wasn't. 

Dex never though he would get to see a dead human Norse Demigod being so upset he literally made the corridor dark (something about his Father being a nature god). Alex was trying to say it's okay while a Norse Elf and Norse Dwarf argued between each other in rapid sign language with Magnus and Alex joing the conversation every now and then. 

"I think we've just Manifested a new ability", Marella whispered next to me. "We're invisible!"

"If only", Dex muttered. 

"What?" 

"N-nothing!" He mentally slapped himself for saying that. If Marella heard, it... Well, he didn't want to think about it. 

"Hello?" Marella called out to the Norse people. "Mind letting us in on your conversation?"

Magnus took a single deep breath and said, "There was a carpet here which was made of Cellis... No idea what that is by the way, but Annabeth needed it and now, bam! It's gone!"

Marella pushed past Magnus to look into the room and Dex did the same. After seeing what lay on the floor instead of where a rug would be was something that made the two suck in a breath simultaneously.

"What is it?" Alex asked. "Do you know what that white eye is?"

"It's the Neverseen's symbol", Dex said slowly. "They must have taken it". 

"Neverseen?" Blitz asked. 

"This group of evil Elves who love making our lives miserable", Marella grumbled. 

"I'm going to call Percy", Magnus said. Heading away from the others, Magnus fumbled for his phone and went out of earshot. 

"Now what?" Alex wondered aloud. 

"Do you know where these Neverseen people are?" Blitz asked.

"We would have told you if we did", Marella replied while shaking her head no. "They're super secretive; we barely know anything about them. We could ask Keefe though, he was working with them for a while. Against his will, of course". 

Hearthstone signed something and Blitz translated, "How are we going to get in contact with him?"

"I know how you could", said a familiar voice behind them. "But there's no point in it". 

All five heads turned to look behind Dex and Marella, which was where the voice had come from. Even before he saw the speaker's face, Dex knew exactly who the voice belonged to. 

"Sophie teleported us here, by the way", Tam informed. For some reason, he was half-covered in mud. "She's not used to it yet, so we landed in a sludge first before she tried again". 

"We still landed outside the house", Biana continued, also sprinkled with mud and looking very disgusted. "And some weird police tried stopping us, but with Sophie's enhancing powers I made the three of us invisible. The rest was easy". 

"Except for the fact that Sophie's really tired now". 

Dex took a moment to scan them when they were done speaking. The three Elves had appeared in the corridor and the mud ok their shoes left dirty footprints on the marvel floor. Sophie, who looked exhausted, was leaning on Biana's shoulder, which confused Dex. Sohie wasn't usually tired by only Teleporting and Enhancing. 

Tam stood behind Biana, his head just above hers. "There's a little change in our plan". 

"You don't say?" Alex deadpanned. 

"Who- who are they?" Sophie asked Biana weakly. Her words hit Dex like a punch in the stomach. Who are they? 

"That's Marella", Biana said, gesturing at Marella. "And that's Dex. They're our friends. The three behind them must be people from the Norse world or something, but I've never seen them before either". 

"Back up", Marella stopped her. "Why are you introducing us to Sophie?" 

Tam and Biana exchanged a look before Tam said, "So you haven't heard yet". 

"Heard what?" 

"That Sophie, Keefe, and another Demigod- Octavian- have lost their memories". 

Tam's words felt even worse than Sophie's; they developed a sour feeling in Dex. He wanted to believe that it wasn't possible, that Sophie and Keefe knew who they and everyone else was, but at this point he knew there was no such thing as impossible. 

"How did it happen?" Marella almost whispered. 

"It was Octavian", Biana said dejectedly. She proceeded to explain about the skinny Demigod and how he gave the three of them amnesia. "Another Demigod- named Rachel- mentioned that she had found a new way to bring back their memories, but would need a couple days. Currently, she's trying some stuff on Octavian. But Nico- another Demigod, contacted with a new plan; for which we needed Sophie to bring us here". 

"And you've come to tell us about that plan", Marella guessed. "What is it?" 

Tam spoke this time. "Nico got permission from Chiron to ask everyone current Elf and Demigod quester to stop with the original plan to seek help from the three worlds. A lot has happened and we need to have a meeting. In two days, at Camp Jupiter, the Elves and Demigods will reunite".
