You stand still, holding up the ruby while the storm slowly comes to an end. The Tritons had to have seen it; there's no other explanation. You have the Damnation get close enough to the Intrepid so you can flag down Oliver. He looks surprised to see you, but still smiles. He then takes a rope and carefully swings himself over to your ship. You're relieved to see he's unharmed. He goes to hug you, only to see your baby bump, then gives you a grin.
"I guess I owe you and Edward a congratulations, Coral."
You laugh.
"Yeah, well we figured, why wait till the curse was broken; let's start our family now. But I owe you a congratulations as well, Commodore."
"It still feels odd, but this is something I've been working towards for a long time. I just didn't think it was possible anymore after what happened with my father."
"You're not your father, Oliver. The crown and the navy sees that. And for what it's worth, we see it too. We're all insanely proud of you."
"Thank you Coral, truly."
Once the rest of the crew greets Oliver, he steps off to the side towards the railing and motions for Charlie to join him with a tilt of his head. She steps over and you watch as they converse. You see the rest of the crew staring at them with curiosity until you snap your fingers.
"Hey, leave 'em alone."
However as you say this, you can't help but take a quick glance back at Charlie and Oliver as well. They both chuckle at something, then give each other a big hug. They rejoin the crew and Oliver looks at you.
"Not that I'm complaining about seeing you lot again, but what are you doing here? These waters are dangerous."
"You're telling us."
You quickly fill Oliver in on everything you learned.
"Without a descendant sailing with you, your ship would've been destroyed. That's why we had to rush out here. We had to find you before the Tritons did."
Edward gives Oliver a serious look.
"We also found the Tinsel Mary or what was left of her, before she caught fire and went to Davy Jones' locker."
Oliver's eyes go wide as he hears about the destruction.
"They're just targeting innocent ships?"
You feel a sudden need to defend the Tritons. You may not agree with everything they do, but they're trying to protect their home. People have been seeking Atlantis for power, wealth, and greed. Who knows how many Tritons have been hurt or killed as well within these battles. Besides you're part Triton; you feel a sense of loyalty to them. After all, it is your ancestor's fault they're in this mess.
"Not every ship is innocent, Oliver. Some people seek Atlantis for their own selfish gain. The Tritons have a right to guard their home and their magic."
All of a sudden you see waves begin to shoot up like geysers. They carefully approach your ship and you can clearly make out five human looking figures within the waves. Your crew takes up defensive positions, pulling out their swords and pistols as the figures land on the deck. Edward immediately puts you behind him.
It's extremely obvious these figures are Tritons. Their webbed hands are clutching trident like spears. You can clearly see the silver dust sparkling off their faces. Immense power radiates off of them; you can feel their magical energy swirling around you. One Triton steps forward. He's stronger than the other four and it's clear that he's the leader of this small group. You feel his sea blue eyes piercing onto you, and you're pretty positive he knows that you're the one with the Triton blood. Even though Charlie has her pistol leveled at him he shows no fear; he doesn't even look angry. He has a calming aura as he runs a hand through his shaggy brown hair and addresses your group in a deep, timber voice,
"Name's Monterey. Which one of you is a Triton?"
Edward shifts so you're shielded even more; his grip on his sword tightening, but you have this gut feeling that they mean you no harm. You gently place your hand on Edward's arm, urging him to stand down.
"It's okay. They won't hurt us."
You take a step forward, but still remain by Edward's side. Out of the corner of your eye you see Oliver give the signal to his crew to stand down. You look at the Tritons and say,
"I am. My name is Coral Sinclaire."
You immediately hear the Tritons murmuring among each other. This catches Monterey's attention.
"Any relation to Marella Sinclaire? The daughter of Magdalena?"
"Yes."
You pull the ruby out of your pocket. It glows and the Tritons stare at you in awe, and start whispering happily before Monterey continues.
"Forgive us for our excitement, but we have been waiting for you and the other descendant for a long time. Atlantis is cursed and we're in trouble. For the first time, in who knows how long, we finally have hope."
"I've heard about the curse. That's actually why we're here. But I have so many questions right now."
Monterey gives you an understanding look.
"Please, give us the chance to answer them. I know it's a lot to take in, but there's so much more you need to know."
