The Tritons carefully lead you to a secluded area behind a cliff. There is nothing but ocean around you. Monterey, Havelock, and the three other Tritons whose names are Zale, Delmore, and Calder lift their webbed hands and carefully press them against an invisible barrier. There is a crackle of light and slowly an outline of a entryway starts to take form. Once the Damnation and the Intrepid are safely through the opening, it seals back up and once again disappears. Your eyes are busy trying to take in the magnificent site in front of you. You can hear Monterey's voice say,
"Welcome to Atlantis, Coral."
The city has layers of yellow colored buildings surrounding one large temple with a gold and teal roof. There are intricate carvings of dolphins, whales, and other aquatic life embedded into the walls. Marble statues of fish and seahorses stand around the houses. A big waterfall is jutting out of the temple. Cerulean rocks coat the ground level of the temple, which you can see is fully submerged- it's obvious the rest of the city hasn't been underwater in years (thanks to the curse). The gold isn't shiny or new looking, and you can see cracks along the sides of the buildings. Other Tritons that were meandering around, going about their daily activities, stop and stare at your group. You can hear the hushed conversations.
"Is that her?"
"You can sense the power coming off her."
"Magdalena's blood runs through her."
Monterey laughs.
"I told you that we'd been waiting for this for a long time."
A pretty female Triton with jet black hair and shiny brown eyes approaches your group. A gold headband with a decorative purple shell sits on top of her dark curls. Monterey gives her a hug before introducing her.
"This is our chief and my sister Varuna."
You let out a gasp of surprise.
"Why didn't you mention your sister is the chief?"
Varuna chuckles.
"I am chief only by title really. Nowadays we guide each other. We are all responsible for making Atlantis shine; especially with the curse it's more important than ever that we come together. We always try to live in harmony, not one above the other."
You are pleasantly surprised by this notion.
"That's a really nice concept."
Another female Triton approaches your group as Varuna continues,
"I know this is a lot to take in and I promise we'll talk more at the feast tonight. But right now Nerida will show you to your rooms. Take time to relax and explore. Nothing in Atlantis is off limits to you. The feast will begin at sundown."
Nerida leads you and your crew to a yellow building and shows each of you to your rooms. There's a spacious sized bed with fluffy aquamarine pillows and indigo blankets, a pearl colored table with a turtle shaped lantern, and a beautiful oil painting depicting a coral reef with tropical fish. You look at Edward.
"I still can't believe we're here! This place is amazing. I feel like I'm dreaming."
He pulls you into a hug.
"This is just the start of our adventures. I can't wait to see what else this land has to offer."
"It still feels surreal, Edward. I mean, nothing should surprise me anymore what with the whole time traveling thing, but being here and having Triton blood, and being a descendant from someone so powerful, it's just hard to wrap my head around. Atlantis is real. A mythical race of creatures called Tritons are real. Our child is going to be part Triton. It's just a lot, but I'm so glad I get to share it with you."
