Hell broke loose.

Clay and I ran out of the reactor's room as flames erupted and engulfed the room. We weren't wearing our masks and several guards passed us, but they didn't bother to stop us. They were more concerned on getting out of here alive than capturing us.

We managed to secure a ride on an elevator and headed towards the top.Hopefully, it would be easy to get out of here.

When the elevator's doors opened, I saw there was just as much madness up here then there was below.

Where's Donovan? I thought as I searched the panicked crowds of guards leaving in several trucks.

"He's not here kid." Said Clay, shouting over the chaos around us.

I didn't know how he knew what I was thinking, but I wanted to know how he knew he wasn't here.

"Donovan ain't the kind to stick around much. Probably left as soon as you broke out. He's long gone now."

"Dammit." I hissed under my breath.

I looked around to see hell continue to rage. Every building set blaze and trucks leaving on a crazed desire to leave the island. Several cranes around were catching on fire as well, some even dropping barrels of god-knows-what.

"Listen kid, we should get out of here."

"Wait!" I stopped Clay before he turned, "Take this, something tells me it'll help your story be a lot more believable." I handed him the bottle I took earlier.

He didn't hesitate. He reached to grab my offer, but before he could grasp onto it, a loud bang.

A dead gaze fell upon his face, then another bang, and blood dropped from his mouth.

It all seemed to familiar. Someone with whom a had bond, a loud gunshot, and soon they were lying dead on the floor in a pool of their own blood.

"Give it to me." Said the man with the gun.

"Who the hell are you?" I said, backing up with the bottle tight in my hand.

"You don't remember me, you little fuck?! How about now?!" He gestured towards a gash in his neck. Then it hit me.

"You're that scientist that had me in that freaky mind trap.!" I spat.

"My name is Warren Miles." He said, clicking the gun and getting ready to fire.

"And I really don't care."

"Give it to me. GIVE ME THE HERCULE VIRUS!"

I looked at my hand. He was the guy from the tapes, the one who created this... this thing.

"You see that this world be given a new weapon?" I asked.

"Child please, there is so much you don't know. You think this is all there is. Trust me, out of all the things we are doing, HERCULE is the least of your concerns." He said.

"I'm not going to give this to you. This night has seen to much bloodshed, and this will only bring more to the world and take many lives."

"Fool. Do you really think we care about a few lives being taken? We don't care about humanity, we only care about saving it. Look around, all this bloodshed was caused by you. You only contradict what you are opposed to. This race is weak and unintelligent, HERCULE will see to it that we evolve, and with that, resolve all our problem. So I ask again: GIVE IT TO ME!"

I took a step back and responded. "No."

"You will give it to me. Or I will see to it that you die as horribly as your father. I'll see to it that you see your house burned to the bloody ground and roast the heads of your precious mother and that pretty little girlfriend of yours. And only when you are broken, you will die or you will become one of us."

He cocked his gun and took aim, but a groaning noise caught my attention. A crane that was still carry cargo was on the verge of breaking.

The cargo's cable snapped, and a dozen barrels came rolling.

"WATCH OUT!" I screamed, but in vain. The barrels, coming at an incredible speed, pushed Miles over the edge and carried him in to the icy cold waters.

His death didn't lament me.

One building exploded and collasped to the ground. That was my cue.

With what little breathe I had left, I run towards the bridge. Several more explosion followed as I got closer to the mainland.

Just as I was about to cross the bridge, one last explosion, broke through and carried me over the bridge and into the snowy mainland.

Suddenly, a sharp pain spread through me chest. I rolled over to see the bloody snow and several glass shard plunged into my chest.

The HERCULE bottle smashed. I picked out the bent needle and shards out.

"Where is it?"

The bottle was empty. Seconds passed until I realized I injected myself with the HERCULE.

I took a gulp, breathed deeply and walked away from the little remains of the island.

I walked for a while until I found a road, and my bike tossed to the side and buried in snow. I picked it up and sat down before starting the engine.

I took off the uniform and back into my old clothes. I started my engine and pulled into the road.

Back home.
