Chapter 3

Me and Jason had made plans to hit the water park with some friends and decided to meet them there. So we went to his place to kill time and for me to borrow a pair of shorts. Before we left his dad came pounding in the front door, his eyes all red and shot like he was crying, his shirt all sweaty, and his breath reeking of booze. He came in, all pissed-off looking, and started walking all funny, tripping on the furniture, cursing out at his mom.

''Its all your fault Marlene, if we had given that kid to that home like we wanted to I wouldn't have to work like a dog just to feed that hooligan that throws away the food I work so hard for. Then he tells me he made the team and he can't even pass the ball'' he slurred and slapped at his wife.

Me and J were standing there watching it go down, I couldn't believe what he said. He and J's mom wanted to stick him in a home BEFORE he was born, to have him live under somebody else. Jason was there, like he was on the verge to cry. I started to his dad screaming. '' So what at least he doesn't resort to chugging down booze everytime he has a effed-up day. And at least he is still in high school unlike you, who quit after the first semester, and didn't get a girl pregnant, a girl who you didn't even know and decided to give up the baby!!!''  I stood up there, five seconds later I was on the floor. Jason's dad had slapped me across the face.

That was what tore Jason's last nerve and he tackled him to the floor, '' How about that, daddy. Huh, are you proud of me now, huh? Is my tackle enough for the team, huh? And yeah, Alex is right, I'm not like you.'' I saw all this go down as Jason sat on top of his dad punching him.

A couple of minutes later, the po-po showed up due to some of the neighbors reporting distubing the peace or something like that. Among one of them was my old man, who was surprised that Jason's dad would do something like this.

Once they got in they saw Jason lying on the floor, like a bloody piece of trash, and his old man sittin' his ass down on the couch, crying.

We never did meet up with our friends that day.

I can only what is happening, today was Jason's Dad's last day on the job. A thought broke into my head.'' His problem, not mine I have better things to worry about than some dipshit who won't talk to me just 'cause Ihad one date with his ex''.

I hadn't realized I had stayed up all night remembering that day, I quickly saw the blinking light on my cell phone that notifies me of anything on my Facebook account.

So much for hoping that Jason had given up his hostile feelings toward me, but how could he so mad at me instead than at his old man.
