Isaac POV*
"Is this it?" Lukas yelled from the other side of the clearing. I walked over to see what he meant. "No, well almost.." I said kneeling next to the plant. "You see these leaves." I pointed. He got closer to look. "This one has three, there should only be two," I said as I turned towards him, only to find him just inches away from my face. I froze as he nodded, "Okay, ill keep looking then." He got up and walked around again, I still couldn't move. What the hell is happening to me? I shook my head and got up again to check the list.
Lukas had waited for me in the woods when I went out to give collecting the ingredients another try. My father wasn't happy got back so late, and even less when I told him I got lost. But after begging for about 30 minutes he agreed to give me another change today. He did give me a map and so details on where to find some of the flowers.
Not only that but this time I also had Lukas' help, he knew the woods better than any map my dad could've given me. And so far he has been very helpful.
"I think I got it this time!" I heard him yell from behind me. I walked up again. "Yes! Finally" I smiled as I picked the flower. I went back over to my bag which I had thrown next to some tree around the clearing. "Now I got everything!" I said proudly as I crossed the last Ingredient from the list.
"Glad I could help." He smiled as he followed me slowly. "I'm sorry, I'm just really excited for my dad to teach me," I said as he sat down next to me.
"Yeah, I've noticed" I checked over the list everything a couple more times, to make sure we got everything. And when I was finally done I put everything safely on my bad.
"So do you have any idea what it is he's gonna teach you?" Lulas asked. I shook my head. "No, but it'll probably be something easy," I said while leaning against the tree.
"You better show me when you made it" he smiled. I laughed "Of course, did you think I wasn't going to brag to everyone about my basic potion-making skills" I smirked. He laughed "Nope."
It was quiet as we both listened to the sound of the forest. "Can I ask you something.." I said carefully, breaking the silence, "Yeah of course." He looked down.
I looked away nervously. "Why do you know the forest so well?" He looked away for a second, thinking. "Well, I've lived here for half of my life" he sighed.
"I- wait how old are you?" As soon as I asked if it felt wrong. "I'm sorry, that's too much..." I apologized. He laughed "What no, it's fine" he reassured. "I'm 20..." he answered.
"You're older than me?" I asked surprised, I'm not sure why I was surprised though. "Really?" He smirked, "I turned 19 like... two months ago," I said quietly. He let out another laugh and soon he got back explaining.
"I guess I just know it so well because I have to," he said sadly. I looked over feeling like I overstepped, and I was just about to say something when a sudden rustle startled me. We both looked over to the bushes across from us.
"What-" I said startled. "It's nothing, probably just a squirrel or something," he said. I nodded quickly, "Yeah.. you're right" I shook my head. "I guess Ava got in my head with the werewolf talk," I said nervously.
"You really shouldn't listen to her." He said as he got up. I followed him with my gaze as he turned around. "I assure you, there are no more werewolves." He smiled sadly. I looked down- wait. "What do you mean, no 'more' werewolves," I asked getting up as well.
He looked surprised "Well I- uh-" he stuttered, trying to think of something before giving up. "Well there used to be... but not anymore.." he admitted.
"What does that mean?" I walked up to him. He looked down. "It's been about ten years since they went... well.. extinct..." he sighed. Looking away.
"How do you know..." asked curiously. But before He could answer. Lightning flashed and it started to rain. We both ran back to the tree, grabbed our stuff, and ran back towards town, back to the shop.
We got there pretty quickly, but we were still soaked from the rain. I closed the door behind us as he walked into the storefront. We were closed today so there were no customers.
We started laughing as soon as we caught our breath. "Well, that was unfortunate." He smiled before laughing as well. We both just stood there, drenched in the rain, laughing loudly.
"What going on down here?" Suddenly my father appeared from the back. I caught my breath. "Hey, I got everything" I smiled as I held up the bag. He looked at me, Lukas, and back at me confused. I smiled as I lowered the bag

"So.. who's that?" My dad asked as I sat on a chair across from him. He had sent Lukas to the shower to warm up and gave him a set of his clothes as he interrogated me. "My friend, Lukas," I explained as I drank the hot chocolate he had made for us.
"What about Ava?" He asked confused. I laughed putting my cup down. "Dad... I can have more than one friend" he nodded." Yeah of course but just-" he stopped, putting his hand up to his chin.
"Just what?" I asked suspiciously. "You said you met him where?" He asked. "When I got lost yesterday, well actually the day before but-"
"Wait you met him in the woods?" He asked looking up, "yea... so?" I turned around to face him. He looked away for a bit before deciding not to continue. "It's nothing." He smiled.
"Are you sure?" I pushed. "I- I just get some... weird vibes from him... I guess" he tried to explain as he looked towards the stairs. "Weird vib- what?" I asked confused. "Uh- nevermind" he shook his head,
I looked at him confused before he changed the subject. "So, you got all the ingredients..." he turned to my bag. "Yup, all of them," I said proudly. "Did my map help?" He asked proudly.
"Well, that... and Lukas helped me a lot." His pride looked faded a bit but he shook it off. "Okay, so do you think you are ready to make your first potion?" He asked.
I nodded quickly. "Of course I am, I've been ready for a year now," I said excitedly. He let out a laugh. Well then" Go get that friend of yours and meet me in my room, I'll set everything up." He grabbed my bag and headed towards his room. I quickly finished my drink before making my way upstairs.
