!!POV CHANGE ONE LAST TIME!!

Marc POV*

"What are you guys doing here?" Isaac asked as soon as we walked to the back.

It was a small room, with basically everything they need cramped into one room. Isaac and Lukas were already seated at the table in the middle of the room. By the looks of it they hadn't started eating yet.

"They're joining us for now," Nigel answered for us as he pushed past me to his seat. They looked back at us confused.

"My fault!" Aubrey smiled walking up to them as well.

"It's fine, come on, sit down," Nigels said, gesturing to the empty chairs around the table. I was about to take the seat closest to me when Aubrey went past me and took it first, leaving me with no choice but to sit next to Nigel.

"Again, Thank you, Mr. Bowman!" Aubrey smiled.

he shook his head. "That's okay, and call me Nigel." He smiled. "goes for you too, Lukas," He looked over at him. They both nodded awkwardly at him.

It was mostly quiet as we ate. I had nothing to say and I think Nigel saw how uncomfortable I was.

But I definitely didn't regret coming here. As I predicted, the food was amazing. Even better than I remembered. I used to be over a lot. and he would always help his parents with the cooking.

By then end of the evening, I was starting to feel a little more comfortable.

"So how's the search going?" Lukas asked as they started to clean the table. "Pretty good, I might have a job soon." Aubrey smiled proudly. "Wait already? What about the house?" He smiled,

"Well Marc made a good point, we can't really live anywhere if we can't pay the rent." She explained, "So we made that top priority."

Nigel stood up and brought everything left on the table and brought it to the kitchen area. I got up and brought my own plat with me.

"Is one job gonna be enough?" Isaac asked as they moved to the couch. "We'll see." Aubrey sat down next to him not sure what to say.

Nigel looked at me as he started to wash the dishes,  I smiled at him as I helped the best I could.

"You know," He started. "If you need a job, I could use some help around here," He offered as he grabbed one of the plates from my hands.

"ah- no, that's okay-" I said looking away. Working with him, I'm not sure I can handle that. "why not?" He asked, continuing what he was doing.

"I'll find another job somewhere else. I'm sure there are other places that can use me." I said back.

"But this will be so much easier. And you'll be able to save some money by staying here every once in a while." He continued.

I stayed quiet as we finished the dishes. "And it would be nice to catch up." He smiled, leaning onto the kitchen counter. I turned no him.

"Alright fine." I gave in, crossing my arms. He smiled brightly, giving me a playful push against my shoulder. "Great."

I felt my face heat up as I looked back at him. This was going to be... Interesting.

Isaac POV*

I walked through the darkness, making my way to Ava's house. I really should go and talk to her, and what better time than now?

Last night I made a potion with dad, the one her dad usually gets as a way to see what level I was at. It wouldn't be dangerous if it didn't work, since he already got one this week, he wouldn't get worse, but if it did fail, he wouldn't get better either.

I wasn't sure how to feel about it. It felt kind of wrong to experiment on a human being like that, but it was one of the more easy things dad had on hand. And since he already has more than enough ingredients as the position is made at least once a week, I wasn't wasting anything.

I took a deep breath as I approached her front door, holding onto my bag as I knocked on the door. A few seconds it opened, and I was met with Callum standing in front of me.

He looked at me a little confused. "Haven't seen you in a while."

"I know I uh- had a lot going on," I said simply as I waited for him to let me pass. "So what are you doing here?" He asked, leaning against the door.

"I'm here too," I thought about it for a second. "I'm here to speak with Ava," I said.

Callum nodded as he took a step back. "She's in her room, you know the way." He said.

I stepped inside. I stopped when I passed the open door of her dad's room. I couldn't see him, but the silence was enough to know he wasn't awake.

I turned around and headed up the stairs. When I came up I noticed her door was closed, which wasn't something she'd normally do.

I walked up, hesitating a bit before finally knocking.

"Not now Callum." I heard her say from inside.

"It's not Callum..." I said back, leaning against the door. I heard a few rustling sounds before the door finally opened.

She looked up at me surprised, obviously not expecting me to show up so soon. "what are you doing here?" She asked carefully, her eyes locked on mine.

"I- I'm sorry, about before." I apologized.

she shook her head "No, you have nothing to be sorry about i-"

"Had a good reason," I stopped her. She looked up at me confused.

"I'm not saying what you did wasn't wrong. But-" I let out a sigh. "I understand why you did it. And I can't blame you for what happened afterward."

I could see tears forming in her eyes as she listened to me. "I really wish I hadn't done it, I just-" she started again but I stopped her.

"Lets just- stop talking about it now," I said as I reached into the bag. "There's another reason I came over.

I pulled out the bottle and held it up to her. "This is for your dad."

She looked at it happily, "W-we don't really have any none-"

"No need to pay for it, this one is for free," I said, giving it to her. "Are you sure?" She asked. I nodded. She took a step closer and pulled me into a hug. "Thank you so much." She whispered in my ear.
