Lukas POV*

"I still think this is a bad idea," I said to Aubrey as we walked through town. "It's fine, I'm sure he'll say yes." She added.

After Marc had decided to go back to the house, Aubrey came up with the great idea of asking if we could stay at Isaac's place.

"It's not him I'm worried about, it's his dad..." I added. Aubrey smirked as she gave me a playful push. "Nervous about meeting the parents, huh." She joked. "Very funny, but no," I said back.

We turned the corner and the shop came into view. It felt weird walking through town like this, I never really got the idea to do so since I was always hiding. I guess I didn't need to stay in the house the whole time, but when I was younger I was so scared to go put I guess it just became normal.

"So why is it such a big dealt then?" She asked a little confused. "I'm not sure his dad likes me..." I sighed. Aubrey let out a laugh. "I'm sure that's not true, you're just thinking that because you're dating his son." She said, trying to reassure me.

I blushed as I walked a little faster. "Shut up." I heard her laugh as she followed me. We soon reached the shop. I stopped at the entrance, taking one long breath before opening the door and entering.

Isaac sat behind the counter, as he heard the bell ring he looked up, looking confused as soon as he realized it was me. I waved awkwardly as I made my way over to him, Aubrey following in after me.

"Hey.." I said as I got up to the counter. "What are you doing here?" He asked confused. "That's, kind of a long story- listen I wanted to ask if we could stay here tonight?" I asked. I thought tod I just got it out right away it would be so hard to ask.

"What do you mean, stay here. Did something happen to the church?!" He asked, sounding a little concerned. "No- not the church is fine." I calmed him down. "It's part of a plan, we just need a place to stay tonight," I repeated my question.

"I'm not sure my dad would allow that-" he started. "Allow what?" Suddenly. his dad walked in from the back, and we all turned to him surprised. "Hey... Mr. Bowman..." I smiled.

He looked from me to Aubrey. She waved for the back as she awkwardly lingered by the potions. "What's going on here?" He asked suspiciously.

"Well," I started. "My sister and were hoping we could stay over, just for tonight," I asked carefully. He looked at Aubrey who smiled at him before he turned back to me. "Why can't you stay at your place?" He asked. "Well, uh.." I panicked, not sure what to say next.

"Our parents aren't home and we forgot the keys.." Aubrey joined in. "We didn't take them with us when we left the house this morning, so we're kind of locked out..." she lied.

"That's-" he thought for a second. "And you don't have anywhere else to go?" He kept asking. I'm sure now that he rather not have us here. "Not really..." I said. He let out a sigh.

"Well fine. If you have nowhere else to go." He gave in. "Thank you so much-" I said. I took a step closer to him but quickly changed my mind and stopped. He nodded and went over to a box in the store, picking it up as he left the room again. But just before he could leave Aubrey joined in. "Can I help you with anything, sir?" Asked, already trying to repay him.

He thought for a second before turning back to the door. "Sure, follow me." He went into the back. Aubrey showed us a quick thumbs-up before following him.

I turned back to Isaac, smiling happily. "Guess we're having a sleepover then," I said. He let out a laugh as he sat down on the chair behind him. "Guess so." He smiled.

"What's wrong?" I asked. "Nothings wrong, this was just really sudden. Also, you didn't tell me why you wanted to stay here." He continued. "Well, it's a long story," I said, leaning against the counter.

"Aubrey wanted to make the church feel more at home but Marc wasn't sure it would be safe enough, so he made up this plan to make it safe, which just meant bringing the hunters there to prove we're not," I explained. "Wait, what??" He got up again, walking towards me. "He left the church?"

I nodded. He let out a long sigh, running his hands over his face. "I got shot for nothing.." I couldn't help but laugh a little. He looked up at me, pretending to be shocked.

"I know, I don't like it either," I said, holding my hands up in defense. "But if this works it could be really good we'd be a lot safer, and won't have to worry about getting found every day," I explained.

"That sounds great and all but the hunters don't even know about the church." He said back. "That's why it good we lead them to it. This way we know when they're there. If some random person from the village suddenly found the church and told the hunters about it we would get caught for sure." I defended.

At first, I wasn't on board with the plan either, but after thinking about it a lot more there was a lot of reason why we needed to do it, safety being one of them.

"I guess that makes sense." He gave in. "But I still don't like how you didn't tell me about this sooner, we're supposed to be a team." He said as he also leaned against the counter. "We will next time, I promise. Marc just seemed set on doing it tonight-" I added as I got even closer.

He looked up at me, not saying anything. "But hey, at least we get to spend the night together like this," I smirked as I met his eyes. He looked away, a blush covering his face. "Yeah," he said silently.

I reached over and carefully grabbed his hand. He looked up again. I smirked as I leaned in even more. I expected him to push me away as we were still in the front of the shop, but it was quite the opposite.

Instead of doing that he got closer himself and initiated the kiss. I smirked as I leaned into it more, locking our fingers. This was probably the worst time to be doing this, anyone could walk in on us, including his father, but that somehow made it more exciting.

This could've gone on for quite some time, but we were interrupted by the sudden noise of the doorbell. He quickly pulled away again, turning around. I couldn't help but laugh as I got up from the counter and made my way to the back of the shop.

"See you in a bit?" I smirked as I looked back. His face was bright red. He nodded before taking a deep breath and turbine towards his customer.
