Isaac POV*

"Dad.. what are you doing here," I asked awkwardly, Aubrey stood behind me confused. "I was just delivering a potion, what are you doing?" He directed the question to me. I gave him a shy smile. "Just- walking around town." This wasn't a lie, why did it feel like I was lying?

"Right, without Ava?" He asked, looking over my shoulder to Aubrey. "I- yeah.." I let out a sigh, there was no way to get out of this one. "So you lied," he said, starting to sound angry. "I-"

"Because this doesn't look like 'hanging out to me," he followed up without me being able to answer, "dad I'm sorry it's not-"

"What else did you lie about?" He interrupted me again, I stayed quiet, how much should I tell him? "Sir, it's not what you think, He was with Ava before I-" Aubrey started, but he didn't let her finish either, "I'm talking to my son," he said focusing on me again.

"Dad I'm really sorry, it's just- it's hard to explain." I sighed. He crossed his arms and looked between Aubrey can me. "Were you lying about being gay," he suddenly asked.

"What?" I laughed in disbelief. "Why would I do that?" He frowned. "Your went through a lot of trouble to lie to me about Ava, I'd believe it if you lied about more than that." He huffed.

I shook my head. "You know what, I'm not doing this right now-" I sighed and turned around. "And where are you going now?" He yelled after me. "You wouldn't believe me anyway." I shot back "I'll be home for dinner. I'll explain then." I said and walked off, leaving him there.

It didn't take long for Aubrey to catch up, she slowed down as she walked next to me. "Are you okay?" She asked as she tried to match my speed.

"Not really," I smiled, looking down. "I'm really sorry about that, maybe we should've gone out." She apologized, looking to the floor in front of her. "No, it's not your fault," I reassured her.

"I'll explain everything tonight. And if he won't believe me it's his loss." I sighed. "Everything..?" She asked carefully. "Well, almost everything." I smiled.

We kept walking silently as I thought about it. What in the world was I gonna tell him, and how? Would he even listen to me? There's no way I can tell him the whole story, he'd flip. But I'm not sure I want to lie to him anymore. That clearly didn't end very well.

We reached the church a few minutes later. But right before we got in I noticed another poster of Marc on a nearby building. I looked back at Aubrey who had also noticed it. She quickly ran over to it and pulled it off the wall.

We went inside after making sure no one was there to see you and walked u to Lukas and Marc. "Back so soon?" Lukas asked sarcastically.

"Shut up, we have news," Aubrey said seriously as she handed him the poster she pulled off the wall. He looked at it confused before realizing what it was, shocked he handed it to Marc, and we all watched as it dawned on him what was going on.

"I can believe this." He laughed. "They've become this desperate." He said as he crumpled up the poster, throwing it away. "So what do we do now?" Lukas asked, breaking the silence. "We finish the plan, then we get rid of them." He said angrily as he turned back to the table.

"What do you mean, get rid of them?" I asked carefully, marc responded with a look before writing something down. I knew he meant killing them, but I didn't want to go that far.

"Isacc, do you still have that arrow?" He asked, not looking up, "I- Uhm," I opened my back looking through it until I found what he was looking for. "Yeah," I gave it to him, "perfect." He smiled as he studied the blood-soaked tip.

"What is this?" Lukas asked confused as he looked between us, "it's the arrow that hit Isaac, I"m hoping there's still poison on it," he said as he looked at it closer.

"Wait- hold up," Lukas stopped him. "You kept the arrow, "she said looking at me. I shrugged, "I thought it might be useful." I said. "It very well may be," Marc smiled as he grabbed some test tubes out of his bag, before heading towards the kitchen. "What are you planning?" Lukas yelled after him. He came back with a glass of water.

"Trying to find out what they made the poison out of. That way I can make an antidote, just in case," he explained. "But why do you need the poison for that we know what's in it," I said back coming closer to see what he was doing. "That's not gonna help us, every position is unique even if it's made from mostly the same ingredients," he said looking at me, "mostly?"

"To make an effective poison you need to add an ingredient different from the recipe, or else it would be too easy to make an antidote. So all I need to know is what they did differently from the recipe," he said before disappearing into his own world.

"How do you know all this?" Lukas asked as he watched him work. He looked up silently, "I used to know someone who cared a lot about this stuff," he sighed before looking down again, "now if you'll excuse me." He said. We all nodded and left him to it. We took a seat on the bench closest to the front, watching him.

"Do you think he can do it, make the antidote?" Aubrey asked carefully. "I hope so, it would be pretty handy," Lukas said back as he leaned into the bench. Aubrey looked over at me.

"I think he can.." I said honestly. He said he knew someone who cared, and from what I saw back in the jail, that could only be one person. My dad. And if he's using his skills in witchcraft or just potion-making, there's no doubt he'll pull it off.

"Can't you help him?" Lukas asked looking at me. "What? Why would I-?" I asked confused. "Well, aren't you part witch yourself?" He smiled. "I don't know all that much..." I laughed. "My dad didn't start teaching me until recently, remember."

"Well maybe it's a good exercise, you might learn something from helping him." He suggested. "I think it's best if we let him do his thing, I don't wanna mess things up," I said back.

"Lukas, can you come here a second, I need to ask about the plan." Lukas immediately got up and walked over, leaving Aubrey and me alone on the bench.

"So, when are you going home?" She asked after a little silence. "In a bit," I sighed as I pulled my legs up to my chest. "I need a moment to think about how to tell him," I said looking at the floor in front of me.

"Yeah, I get that." She sighed as she got a little closer to me. "Don't worry there's no hurry," she patted my back reassuringly. I looked over "yeah, thanks," I smiled.

Lukas must have noticed our change in position, because it wasn't long before he was in front of us again, "everything okay?" He asked, looking at me. I nodded. "Yeah, I will be," I tried to laugh.

"What happened." He asked worried, I let out a long sigh before sitting up, "it's a long story."
