Isaac POV*

"So you're telling me you saw actual hunters?!" Ava yelled frustrated while we walked through the forest looking for the traps she set earlier. "I didn't say they were hunters... just that they bought some suspicious things.." I said back. "Why else would they buy that?" She shot back. I didn't have anything to argue.

We continued looking. Not because she wanted to, but she kind of got told off. This morning a couple of the town's local hunters came over and told Ava some of their prey got caught in them, and they were afraid it would get some innocent person.

"They are here for a reason, why don't they understand that?" She said, more to herself. "Because they don't believe you-". I laughed as I helped her gather the stuff. "Well they should, you believe me now, don't you? I mean, don't you have proof enough?" She asked. "Just because there are other people that believe it doesn't make it true," I said back.

Ava let out a long sigh. "Seriously? You still don't believe it?" She complained. "I mean, I don't want to, to be honest-" I admitted. "If there are werewolves out there-" I started.

"There's nothing to worry about though," she stopped me. "You said it yourself, there are people out there trying to kill them." She said as she gathered up one of her ropes. "Including me" she added.

"That doesn't make it less dangerous, if anything it makes it more dangerous." I helped her as she put the ropes away in her bags. She let out a sigh. "That's why I put these traps up..." she combined

"Let's just get them down before you get into more trouble." I laughed as I got up again. She didn't seem to agree but went along with me anyway.

We kept going through the forest, looking for all the traps she set, which turned out to be way more than I knew about. We spent most of the day doing this. Slowly making our way deeper into the forest. We got some close calls as well when she didn't exactly remember where she had put them... we almost got caught by some ourselves.

"I think that's all." Ava sighed as she put away the last of her ropes. I got up slowly looking around. "Are you sure?" I asked. She nodded slowly. "...yes, pretty sure." She didn't sound sure...

"Well okay... I hope so." I smiled. We stood there for a bit before Ava spoke again. "Okay then, should we head ba-"

Before she could finish her sentence a figure quickly emerged from the trees before hitting a branch and falling. It then quickly sat up. "I win." Looking closer I realized it was Aubrey. "No you didn't you-" Lukas appeared soon after. "Oh, hey," he said surprised.

"Hey?" I said back confused. "I did win," Aubrey repeated as she got up slowly. "It didn't count, you tripped" Lukas argued back.

Ava looked between them unimpressed. "I was faster than you, doesn't matter if I tripped or not, you couldn't keep up with me either way." She said back stubbornly. "At least I was looking where I was going." Lukas shot back l.

"What's going on?" I interrupted, stopping their argument. "We were racing," Aubrey said simply. "Why?" Ava joined in. Aubrey looked at her as if she just realized she was there. "Because it's fun." Aubrey smiled at her. "And because I wanted to prove to him I was still faster." She added, nudging Lukas.

He rolled his eyes, pushing her back a little harder. Ava stood there confused, staring at Aubrey. "So what are you doing here?" Lukas asked. "Taking down the traps Ava put up, she got told off," I explained.

"Traps" Aubrey looked back at me confused. "For what?" Ava scoffed. "For the werewolves of course." She said. Aubrey looked from Ava to Lukas. He gave her a look to say not to worry. She was about to say something but Ava beat her to it. "Don't tell me they don't exist-" she started.

"I wasn't," Aubrey said. "I have proof- wait what?" Ava looked at Aubrey surprised. "You weren't?" She said. "No. I was gonna say traps don't work for werewolves-" she continued. "Stop it-" Lukas said, nudging her.

"What? It doesn't. They're smarter than that." She continued, ignoring him. "And all they caught was animals anyway," I added. "And Lukas," Ava said. Aubrey let out a laugh. "Wait what?" She looked over at her brother. He looked away embarrassed. "You did- they caught you?" She tried to hold in her laugh. He continued to look away. "Are you done?" He asked as she finally broke down laughing. "Yeah, just- I can't believe it worked on you!"

Ava started laughing with her. "I'm sorry," Aubrey said, wiping away tears. "Sure you are- " Lukas smiled. Aubrey finished laughing and turned back to Ava who had composed herself as well. "So then?" How do you catch one?" She asked. "A werewolf? Well, simple you just-"

"Aubrey don't-" Lukas interrupted. "Why not? She wants to know." Aubrey defended. "Werewolves aren't real, she could hurt herself." He said back. "Not real? What are you-" she couldn't finish her sentence before Lukas stopped her again. "Just leave it..." he said. Aubrey wanted to say something back but decided to. "Fine." She gave in, giving Ava a wink to say she would find a way.

"You're no fun," Ava said to Lukas. He just sighed. "I could teach you how to fight one," Aubrey said again. Lukas rolled his eyes as he turned away. "Are you serious?!" Ava yelled back excitedly. "Sure- you want to come over and ill-" but just then Ava got distracted by the sudden sound of the clock tower back in the village. We all stayed silent as I rang in the distance. "I would love to but I have to go home now," Ava said as she picked up her stuff. "Oh alright." Aubrey smiled. Ava waved them goodbye and started to walk away, I followed her after saying goodbye myself. "I'll come by later!" Ava yelled after them.
