Isaac POV*

"And that's the last one!" Aubrey said firmly as she ripped the wanted poster off the wall.

We had rested a bit after everything that happened, but when the next morning came, Aubrey was set on going out and taking down all the posters the hunters put up for Marc. So when the sun was up we went into town to look for all of them.

Lukas was still resting back at the church. The hole in his leg made it difficult to walk and he was still feeling weak from the poison.

"Now we're free." She said happily as she sat down on a bench. I sat down next to her. "So what do you wanna do now?" I asked her. She looked up at the sky thoughtfully.

"First we gotta get a better place than that church." She smiled. "After that, whatever we want."

"And where were you planning on doing that?" Marc joined in. "well, somewhere here of course." She said back.

"Your gonna stay in this town?" I asked. "Of course I am, you're here. And since you're the one who scared the hunters away, I can't just go somewhere else. This is where we're safe." She explained. "And besides, my brother won't leave you." She smirked as she looked down at me.

"Right." I looked away, feeling my fave heat up.

"So what are we gonna do now, and by now I mean today," Marc asked. Aubrey shrugged as she leaned back, "I wouldn't mind justhanging out, there's no one who wants to kill us anymore." She smiled.

"Yeah, I'm not sure I want that-" Marc laughed.

"You can come with me... I was thinking of going home. To tell my dad we did it.":  I suggested. "I'm sure he would like to see you as well."

Marc looked away, thinking about it for a second. "Alright, sure."

I got up and turned to Aubrey. "Are you coming too?" I asked. She shook her head. "Nah, I'm gonna check out the town a little more. maybe look for a place to stay." Sh smiled. "And a job to support said place." She added quietly. "Alright, you know where to find us." I smiled before I turned around and made my way to the shop.

On our way there I noticed Marc's nervousness. Which seemed to worsen with every corner. I couldn't help but smiled. It was kind of weird to see him this nervous, especially someone who looked like he did.

We rounded the last corner and the shop came into view. As we got to the door I heard Marc take a deep breath before I opened the door.

As soon as we walked down my dad looked up from whatever we were doing. I walked up to him, a proud smile on my face.

"What are you-" He dropped the book he was holding and went around the counter to join us. Marc stared at him awkwardly.

"Hi, dad." I smiled. He looked between us, a little confused. "Did you- is it-"

"It's over." I finished for him. His confused expression soon turned into a smile. He took a step closer and pulled me into a hug, letting out a sigh of relief. I hugged him back.

He let go of me, looking down happily. He looked up and turned his attention to marc. He walked up to him and pulled him into a hug as well. I noticed Marc's face turning bright red as he awkwardly hugged him back. I couldn't help but smile at the sight.

"This is great!" dad said as he let go of Marc. "Now you can come back." Marc took a deep breath, looking away. "I- " He struggled.

Dad looked up at him confused. "It does, right?" He repeated.
"I guess, yeah." He turned back to look my dad in the eyes. Daad's face lit up, and he turned to me again. Letting out a long sight. "We should celebrate." He smiled, making his way to the back.

"I'll be right back. Isaac, close the store for today, we have bigger things to do." He told me. I let out a laugh and made my way to the door, I turned the sign over.

I turned back to Marc, smirking as I leaned against the door. He looked back at me confused. "What is it?" He asked. "You like him, don't you."

He stared at me surprised. "I- I don't know what you're talking about." He defended, pretending not to know what I was talking about.

"Oh don't even try." I laughed, I said crossing my arms. "I saw the way you looked at him."

A blush covered his face as he tried to look away. "I don't- I- Shut up." He stuttered. I pushed myself off the door and took a few steps towards him. "How long have you felt like that?" I asked curiously.

He stayed quiet, his expression turning sad as the color faded from his cheeks. "A long time..." He said, finally looking at me.

"Y-"

"Alright, here we are." Suddenly dad emerged from the back, carrying glasses and a bottle. I let out a laugh as I walked passed Marc to look closer at what he was holding.

"Where did you get this-" I laughed when I realized it was alcohol. "Form my office Of course." He smiled as he put the glasses down. "You've had this all the time?" I asked, amused.

"Of course!" He said as he opened the bottle, He poured it out into three glassed. "I haven't had alcohol in so long." Marc laughed as he grabbed one of the glasses. "I've never even tried it." I laughed a little uncomfortable.

"Well, today is the perfect day!" Dad grabbed the last glass and held it up. "Let's hope we never have to deal with hunter ever again." He smiled.

We brought the glasses together before taking a sip. Marc must've really missed because as soon as the glass reached his mouth he down the whole thing. Dad smiled at him happily as he put his glass back down. One sip was enough for me as I didn't really like it.

We stayed at our place for a few hours, just talking about what they wanted to do next before we got up and went back to the church. I wanted to stay home, and dad also wanted me to, but after we told him the whole story,m and what had happened to Lukas he understood why we were going back there tonight. But only after he made us promise we would stay here tomorrow.

So we agreed and were on our way back.

The walk was quiet, and a weird vibe hung in the air. For the first time in a long time, Marc had walked around this town, this free. With no one out to look for him, be it hunters, or my parents.

"Are you really gonna stay here?" I asked, breaking the silence. He nodded. "I think so. Nigel is right, I've been gone for way too long, and there was nothing stopping me anymore." He sighed.

"And I don't want to leave you guys," He smirked giving me a playful push. "You guys helped me out a lot, it would be rude of me to just leave after that."

"Thanks, I'm sure dad will be happy." I teased, looking at his reaction closely. Even though it was dark, I could see a faint blush appear on his face, but he didn't say anything back after that.
