Chapter 32- The Match

The following days weren't so good for me. I hardly saw Luke around. He was busy with some thing or the other. He didn't see my texts for hours. I don't understand what was wrong with him. When he saw me he looked kinda tired. He looked at me lovingly though. But I felt something was wrong. I was so confused. We met up in every four days or more. I didn't went to his house anymore. Whenever I asked him if we could he just looked all awkward.  I just sat on my bed stupidly staring at his pictures. I am such an idiot. It also came in my mind many times that he must not love me anymore now. This thought bought tears to my eyes. So I decided not to think about it. 

Shane was spending way too much time with Mae. He even came to school with her. He dropped her home too. They were seen as a couple by the whole school. I have to say Shane and Mae looked so hot in that bike together. Either Mae was in our house or Shane was in hers. I don't know what the fuck is going on with them. 

Sia and Aiden.....I don't wanna bother them. When I hang out with them I feel like I am a THIRD WHEEL! So I decided better not. 

The next match between our school and Ace Academy is tomorrow. I don't wanna go. Mae suddenly entered my room and asked 'What are you gonna wear tomorrow?' 

'To the match?' I asked.

'Yeah.' she said in a duh tone.

'Nothing.' I replied.

'You are deciding to go naked?' She asked laughing.

'I am not going to the match!!' I said and hid my face with a pillow. 

'Why?' she asked removing the pillow.

'Just leave me alone Mae.' I barked at her.

'WHOA WHOA. Calm down.' she said taken aback.

'I won't force you.' She said and left my room. Ugh what the hell-

Maybe I will just go. I got up from my bed and picked my clothes.  I decided to wear blue jeans and black top. UGH I really don't wanna go. Then why have I even decided to go?!

I will just sleep. I looked out of my window and saw Shane sitting on his bike. Mae sat behind him and he raced the bike away. I threw my body on the bed. I looked at my phone. My lock screen and home screen both had Luke's picture.

 In the lock screen Luke was standing with a soccer ball in his hand. His face wore a wide smile his perfect white teeth were visible. Not to mention his fangs.

The home screen had a picture of mine with him. We took it on the first day of our relationship. A drop of tear left my eyes. I wiped them away and slept. 

I can't sleep. I want to sleep in his embrace. ARGH I AM LITERALLY DYING!

The next morning I woke up with a start. I got ready and left the house. I bumped into Luke on the way. 

He was in his school jersey. It was yellow and black. He looked hot. I stood there and smiled at him. 

'All the best.' I said and hugged him. He hugged me back. Why do I feel like he has lost some weight?

I pulled myself out of his embrace. I grabbed his arm and examined it. 

'Have you lost weight?' I asked angrily.

'No.' He said and jerked his hand away.

'Fine it's not even a month of our relationship and you are keeping things from me.' I almost yelled.

'Erika please, we can talk about this after the match.' He said.

'I don't fucking care about your stupid match!' I shouted and ran away from there breaking into tears. 

I saw watching the match. My eyes fell on someone rather peculiar. It was Mae. Her long hair was tied into a high ponytail. Her hair was tied with a green band. She was wearing a green sleeveless dress. It showed off her curves. Ugh she looks so good. Meanwhile me? I am looking like ME.  

Mae jumped whenever Shane scored a goal. Ace Academy scored two goals both of them were scored by Luke. I cheered for him. Luke and Shane grabbed each other's necks in between of the game. BOYS. I have to say Luke is a really good player. But his team mates. I remarked they all aren't playing as a team.  At the end Shane scored one last goal and the game ended. Our team won the match. I ran towards Shane to hug him. He deserves it. 

I was just a meter away from him, someone else claimed his body. My feet stopped running. It was Mae. I recognized her by her ponytail and dress. 

'You were great!' Mae yelled happily. Shane looked at me sorrowfully. I smiled at him weakly. 

My eyes fell on Luke. He was laying on the ground and pulling his jet black hair in frustration. I approached him and gave him my hand. He looked at my hand. He clasped it and got up. 

'You alright?' I asked wiping the dust of his cheek.

He nodded in response. Some curious eyes looked at us. 

'Let's go somewhere more private.' I said and pulled him out of the playground. I turned to look at Shane. He was busy talking to Mae. Finally, he found someone. I wasn't worth him anyways.

Luke and I walked quietly. 

'We are going to the pizzeria.' I said without looking at him. 

'Uh- No. I am not hungry.' He lied. I can tell it when he likes. 

'It's an order.' I said sternly. He got quiet and followed my lead. 

We both sat in the pizzeria waiting for our pizza. 

'So....since how many days you aren't eating well?' I asked.

'I am eating well.' He said. He sounded pretty convincing but he can't lie to me.

'Doesn't look like it.' I said folding my hands.

'Fine!!! I haven't been eating well since the last ten days!!!' He finally confessed.

'Why?' I asked. 

A shadow darkened his face and his lips curled up into a sad smile. He looked at me weakly yet lovingly and said 'Things haven't been well.'
