Chapter 57- Happy Birthday!

'Happy birthday to you! Happy birthday to you! Happy birthday! Happy birthday! Happy birthday to you!' The three of them sang together. I couldn't hold back my tears.

Luke was standing In the middle holding a cake. Mae was standing to his right holding a birthday cap. She placed the cap on my head. I smiled at her. Shane stood to Luke's left wearing a birthday cap and smiling with all his might.

Shane came forward and wiped away my tears.

'You deserve this all' He said with a smile. I looked at him tearfully.

'Come on Erika! Blow out the candles!' Luke exclaimed excitedly.

'She will be exactly fifteen today.' Shane said.

I blew out the candles. For the first time in my whole life I was surprised like this. I feel so overwhelmed. Luke shoved a piece of cake inside my mouth. He handed the cake to Mae and threw his arms around me. I let him go after a while and claimed his lips.

Shane and Mae groaned.

'You both can do this later.' Mae said annoyingly.

I released his lips and smiled.

'Time to use the cake for some real fun.' Shane said and smashed the beautiful chocolate cake in my face.

'Happy birthday Erika.' He said wiping the cake from my eyes.

'Thank you Shane.' I replied.

I gave him a big hug. He hugged me back.

AH! HE HUGGED ME BACK! BEST DAY EVER!

'Alright let's take a selfie.' Mae said.

'Wait lemme clean my face.' I replied.

'You look perfect.' Luke said and pulled me closer to him.

Mae clicked a selfie. In the picture, Shane and Luke looked ah-mazing without any effort. Mae like always looked pretty as heck! And me. Well me. I looked like my usual self.

'I am gonna frame this picture.' Shane said examining the picture with a wide grin.

'Very funny.' I said and gave him a sarcastic smile.

'I am not kidding. I look too good. I need to frame this.' He said.

'Stop bragging.' I groaned.

'Ugh you grew up so fast.' He said pinching my cheek.

'You sound like my dad.' I told him.

'It seems like only yesterday when I was pulling your hair and you were beating me up for it.' He said smiling happily.

'Yeah.' I replied.

'Do you remember the time when you started crying because I ate the last piece of cake?' He recalled.

'That was mine! I saved it for me!' I exclaimed.

'Well, it was just a cake.' He said shrugging.

'IT WAS NOT JUST ANY CAKE! IT WAS A CHOCOLATE VELVET CAKE!' I yelled.

'You are still a little angry bird.' He said laughing.

'Says the one who goes on glaring at everyone!' I said.

'I glare at people because I don't like to be unreasonably friendly.' He said.

'Like you.' He added.

I gasped.

'I am not unreasonably friendly!' I cried.

'Just stop it!' Mae yelled.

'I am staying over.' Luke announced.

'So am I. I am too tired to go home.' Mae said.

'Did you inform your mom?' Shane asked her.

'Of course I did. I told her that I was staying over at Erika's.' She replied.

Shane hummed.

'If I told her that I was staying over at Shane's. You would have been called for dinner tomorrow. With my parents.' She explained.

'Oh.' Shane said.

'I saved you from some serious bullshit. Thank me.' She said flipping her long red hair.

'Thank you?' Shane said. It sounded more like a question.

'My mom thinks we are in a relationship. I mean come on! Why would I date you?' She said laughing.

'Excuse me?' Shane asked surprised.

'I mean you are just my friend. Moreover you aren't my type.' She said.

'What's your type Mae?' I asked emphasizing the word TYPE.

Luke coughed.

'Are you all done?' Luke asked.

'Yep all done!' Mae said and pulled Shane outta the room.

I took out a tissue from my drawer and wiped my face.

'I am gonna go and change.' Luke said.

'You bought clothes?' I asked.

'Of course I did. I was planning to stay over today.' He said.

'Go and change.' I told him.

'I have something for you.' He said.

He slipped his hand inside his pocket and took out a long silver chain with a crystal blue butterfly.

He chained it around my neck.

'Oh my god. Its beautiful.' I said.

'You like it?' He asked.

'I love it Luke.' I said with a warm smile.

'Happy birthday Erika.' He said and kissed me. I am so lucky to have him. Soo Lucky!

He's mine. All mine. Only mine. It feels great to have him. Ugh I love this guy sooo much!

I released his lips.

'You must be tired. Go and change.' I said.

'Stop nagging.' He said laughing.

'I am not nagging.' I said and pushed him inside the bathroom.

I changed my clothes and sat on my wooden rocking chair.

He came out after five minutes.

'You wanna cuddle right?' He asked.

'Pft- No.' I said scoffing.

'I know you are lying.' He said walking towards me.

Before I could say anything, he switched off all the lights. Only the soft moonlight entered the room. He picked me up in his arms and walked towards the bed. He placed me on my bed and lied beside me.

I wrapped my legs around him and snuggled my head on his chest. I can feel him smiling. He caressed my back.

'I love you Luke.' I said in a mere whisper.

'Love you even more.' He said and hugged me tighter.

His embrace is the most comforting thing I have ever known. As the days are passing, I am getting more and more attached to him. I want to be his forever.......
