Chapter 10

August

Standing where she left me, I tried to make sense of all that had just happened. The way Misty looked at me, I knew she was angry and I had to make things right.

Leaving Sarah's office, I went back up to the roof. Spotting Misty by where the drinks were, I was about to head over there when Morgan cut in front of me.

"Where were you?"

"Why?"

"What do you mean why? You just went ghost on me knowing I don't know any of these people here."

"Okay but you wanted to come Morgan."

"But still. You just keep disappearing on me like if I'm not even here."

Glancing over at Misty, she looked at me then turned her back. Seeing Sarah approach her, she just walked off on her, that's when I realized she was really upset.

"Are you even listening to me!" Morgan waved her hands in my face.

"Yeah I am and if you're so bored, go take part in some game or something. We're here to interact and enjoy."

"I can't believe you right now."

"With what now?"

"I need to talk to you." Maggie cut in.

Before I could say anything, she just pulled me away.

"Damn Maggie."

"Listen to me and listen to me very carefully. You better tame your little bitch, tie her to a chair or something and go straighten shit out with Misty because she isn't talking to neither me or Sarah."

"How is that my fault?"

"Because you chose not to tell her about, that!" She pointed at Morgan.

"So did y'all so we're all in the wrong."

"No we're not. That's not our business to tell, even though we are friends. You're the one who claims to love her, you should have been fucking honest when y'all decided to start over."

"I do love her and I wanted to tell her but I was too caught up in me and her."

"At this point, I honestly DON'T care. Just fix it!"

Pushing the center of my forehead, she then walked off. Seeing Morgan getting caught up in one of the games that was happening, I went in search of Misty.

"Hey you seen Misty?" I asked Trav.

"I think she went into the building."

"Okay man, thanks."

"Better go do that damage control." He laughed.

Sighing, I made my way to the doorway, only to be surprised by my mother and Chandra.

"What are y'all doing here?"

"Maggie sent us an invite." My momma spoke. "And hello to you too."

"Oh, right. Hey momma. Hey Cha." I kissed them on their cheeks.

"Why you look like that?"

"Like what?"

"Flustered."

"Because I gotta fix something."

"Oh God. What is it?"

"Misty found out about Morgan and not in a good way."

"I told you to end things with that girl."

"I know and I will but I gotta fix this so can y'all entertain Morgan for me while I go check on Misty."
