Misty

"Sweet face? Ya got everything?"

"Just about." I walked into the bedroom.

Grabbing my bag for me, he made his way downstairs. We were on our way back to Atlanta now that Naima's room was ready.

"Grandma?"

"Yes?"

"Are you ready?"

"I've been ready and waiting on the both of you." She said getting up.

With Nai in her arms, she went into the kitchen then came back with her handbag.

"You want me to take her?"

"Misty just move. The child is comfortable." She pushed me out of the way.

Shaking my head, I made sure that everywhere was locked up and secured before setting the alarm on the front door and closing it behind me.

I was excited to see how the room came out seeing as how it took long that we had expected.

"Aug, you never told me how her room was done."

"I know."

"Well are you going to tell me or show me a picture?"

"You'a see it when we get thea." He smirked.

"Really Aug? Why can't you just tell me?"

"Because Ion want to." He shrugged as he kept driving.

"At least tell me the color its in."

"Its in the color I chose."

Glancing over at me, he smiled before putting his eyes back on the road.

"I can't stand you."

"I love you too baybeh." He chuckled.

"Misty I'm sure the room looks good. I mean look and how he did when he surprised us with the house."

"That was six years ago grandma."

"So watchu tryna say Misty?"

"I'm trying to say that I want to know the room my child will be sleeping in."

"The room looks great ma, so just relax."

"Whatever."

Rolling my eyes, I sat quietly as we continued in the rental. Every now and then, Nai would coo in her car seat as though to say she was conversing with us.

"That's right sweet pea. Tell ya momma ta have some patience." He joked.

"Shut up."

"Don't tell me to shut up in front ha." He poked my side.

"The both of y'all need to shut up." My grandma said in the back.

Continuing to the airport, aside from the radio playing, my grandmother and daughter were having a full on conversation in the back seat.

Ever so often, Aug would glance over at me, but we didn't make eye contact. Arriving at the airport rental parking, we got out and got our bags.

"Wanna get something to eat after we check in?"

"Yeah." I nodded.

Leaving him to return the car keys, me and my grandmother went ahead and checked in.

"What you want to eat?" Aug spoke as he took her from my grandmother.

"A wrap."

"Whea we getting that in hea?"
